대학 수업에서 문제중심학습(Problem-Based Learning)의 전반적 만족도에 영향을 미치는 요인

국문 초록

연구목적: 본 연구의 목적은 대학 교육에서 확산․적용되고 있는 문제중심학습(Problem-Based Learning)의 전반적 만족도에 영향을 미치는 요인을 탐색하는 것이다. 연구방법: A대학교에서 14개의 교과목에서 운영되었던 문제중심학습을 경험한 404명의 학생들이 응답한 문제중심학습의 전반적 만족도에 영향을 미치는 요인을 도출하고, 내용분석을 통해 문제중심학습의 여러 측면을 살펴봄으로써 지속가능한 문제중심학습 운영전략을 살펴보고자 하였다. 연구결과: 위계적 다중회귀분석을 통해 전반적 만족도에 영향을 미치는 요인을 분석한 결과, 활동의 실제성과 과제 난이도가 큰 영향을 미치는 요인인 것으로 나타났으며 과제의 실제성과 교수자의 개입 수준도 문제중심학습의 전반적 만족도에 큰 영향을 미치는 것을 알 수 있었다. 내용적으로 학생들의 자유응답을 분석한 결과 문제중심학습은 그 자체의 특성이 가장 매력적인 요소였음을 알 수 있었으며, 그럼에도 불구하고 익숙하지 않음으로 인해 학습 수행에 어려움이 있으므로 학생들의 준비 상태를 고려해야한다는 점을 도출하였다. 논의 및 결론: 연구결과를 바탕으로 문제중심학습의 지속가능하고 발전적인 운영을 위해서 대학교육의 세 주체인 대학, 교수, 학생의 차원에서 체계적으로 고려해야할 운영지원 요소를 제안하였다.

영문 초록

Purpose: The purpose of this study was to analyze on the impact factors of overall satisfaction at Problem-Based Learning(PBL) classes. Method: To this end, we analysed overall satisfaction rates and the problems that they were aware of about PBL. I collected responses from 404 students of 14 classes with the survey at the end of last semester. Results: The results will be useful for designing more sustainable PBL classes. I found that the level of authenticity of the problem solving and understanding of contents were the most influential factors on the overall satisfaction. The level of difficulty of task and that of professor’s intervention are also very important. The responses for open questions about their learning experiences showed that the characteristics of PBL were attractive itself for them. They also reported they felt difficult to get used to this new way of learning. Conclusion: I suggested that the problem and learning activities should be well designed in the real contexts, and the introductory guides of PBL be offered to professors and students. And well designed facilitating supports in the level of university, professors, and students will raise the level of overall satisfaction rate on PBL and allow PBL classes continually offered and developed in higher education.
