미술치료에서 경청과 주시의 의미 고찰

국문 초록

심리치료에서 경청은 정보를 수용하는 기본적 자세이자 치료를 성공적으로 이끌기 위한 토대 가 된다. 그리하여 본 연구는 미술치료에서 정보를 수용하는 행위인 경청과 주시의 의미를 고찰하는 데 목적을 둔다. 이를 위하여 먼저 듣는 행위를 의미하는 낱말인 청취와 경청의 사 전적 의미를 살펴보았다. 그리고 Collins(2006)와 Weiß, Kleer, & Engel(2011)이 분류한 경청 의 종류와 이에 내재한 특성을 근거로 다양한 이론적 배경을 가진 심리치료에서 경청의 형태 를 살펴보았고 여기서 인지할 수 있는 치료사의 자세와 특징을 설명하였다. 상대적으로 시각 적 정보의 수용에 높은 비중을 둔 미술치료에서 심리치료에서의 경청과 유사한 의미는 주시 라는 점과 이에 근거한 다양한 미술치료에서의 시각적 정보 수용의 유형을 살펴보았다. 전통 적 심리치료와는 달리 미술치료에서는 시각적 정보뿐만 아니라 청각적 정보를 전달하는 대상 이 존재한다는 점에서 ‘주시하는 경청’(Ansehendes Zuh?ren)과 ‘경청하는 주시’(Zuh?rendes Ansehen)를 미술치료에서의 기본적 정보 수용의 형태로 제시하였다. 그리고 이의 적절한 혼 용은 적극적 경청에 상응하는 미술치료에서의 정보를 수용하는 행위로 이해할 수 있음을 설 명하였다. 그리하여 미술치료에 부합되는 적극적 경청의 자세와 태도를 이해하고 이의 특성 을 연구하는 데 이바지하는 하나의 이론적 토대로 유의미하리라 기대한다.

영문 초록

Active listening in psychotherapy is the basic step to accept information and is the most fundamental component to induce the best outcomes in therapeutic session. This research focuses on how art therapy collect information through the act of active listening and gaze. For this, terminology of describing the act of listening (hearing), and the dictionary definition of active listening were searched. Based on the classifications of active listening and its intrinsic values in Collins(2006) and Wei?ß, Kleer & Engel(2011), a variety types of active listening and its theoretical backgrounds were found and explained the role of a therapist. Various types of how Art therapy accepts the visual information of an individual has searched to prove how Art therapy could be analogous to active listening in psychotherapy through observation process. Different from traditional studies of psychotherapy, Art therapy can receive both visual and auditory information from an individual. Therefore, this research suggested Ansehendes Zuh?ren; active listening of observing visual outcomes and Zuh?rendes Ansehen: observing active listening as a basic technique to collect information. In conclusion, the combined technique of ‘Ansehendes Zuh?ren’ and ‘Zuh?rendes Ansehen’ is an appropriate approach to understand the process of collecting information in art therapy. Therefore, this research expects to provide a theoretical foundation to understand the attitudes of active listening in accordance with Art therapy.
