국문 초록

긴장감(Tension)'은 예술과 디자인에서 특별한 의미를 지니며, 사회적 사조가 확산되면서 디자인 분야에서 사람들은 항상 전위적이고 특징적인 작품에 호기심을 갖게 되었다. 이론적 배경에서 긴장감 형상은 고정된 장르가 아니라 심리적 요인에 의해 결정되는 조형 또는 디자인 아이디어라고 설명한다. 본 연구의 목적 역시 커피잔 디자인을 주제로 시각적으로 불안정한 요소의 연구이다. 불안정한 상태는 시각적으로 착각을 일으키는 동시에 눈에 띄는 지각과 심리적인 경향으로 나타나지만, 기능을 유지하고 있기 때문에 일상적인 사용에도 무리가 되지 않는다. 이에 본 연구는 긴장감 있는 디자인(Tension Shape Design) 이론을 정리하고 이에 대한 미적 개별화 및 예술적 관점으로 디자인 개념을 재고하는 방법을 소개한다. 또한 긴장감 있는 디자인과 관련된 철학적 사고, 심리학적 사고 및 관련 예술가의 사고방식을 탐구한다. 현대 문화가 발전함에 따라 시대의 상징이자 실험적인 의미를 가진 도자기 제품이 점점 더 사람들의 관심을 받고 있다. 따라서 본 연구에서는 새로운 시대가 가져온 새로운 디자인 사례를 기반으로 개념 분석을 위한 작품과 예술가와 디자이너는 현대 미학과 심리학의 관점에서 신소재를 결합하여 긴장감 조형의 개발 및 이론적 해석을 알아보았다. 또한 선행 이론을 통해 예술가의 작품을 소개하고 긴장감 개념을 적용한 도예 커피잔 디자인을 개발 및 연구로 도자예술에 대한 역발상과 디자인의 확장을 시도하였다. 긴장감 있는 디자인(Tension Shape Design)은 단순한 특정 외관이 아니라 독특한 시각 언어와 매력적인 외관을 가진 스타일을 나타낸다. 본 논문에서는 번거롭고 복잡한 조형물의 설계 단계부터 구조적 요구를 충족시키기 위한 석고 몰드의 제작 과정까지의 과정을 연구하였다. 그리고 이러한 독특한 시각언어를 가진 디자인이 소비자들을 만족시킬 수 있는지를 살펴보았다.

영문 초록

The term 'tension' holds a special significance in art and design, and as societal trends evolve, people in the design field are always intrigued by avant-garde and distinctive works. Theoretical background explains that tension shape is a sculptural or design idea determined by psychological factors, rather than being confined to a fixed genre. The aim of this study is also to explore visually unstable elements through the design theme of coffee cups. The state of instability manifests visually by creating illusions while simultaneously capturing attention through perceptual psychological tendencies. This design approach maintains functionality without disrupting everyday use. In this regard, the study presents the theory of Tension Shape Design and introduces methods to reevaluate the concept of design from an aesthetic individualization and artistic perspective. It explores philosophical and psychological thinking related to tension design, as well as the thought processes of relevant artists. As society advances, ceramic products, symbolic and experimental, are increasingly cherished. Based on new design cases brought forth by the new era, there are tangible works for concept analysis, and artists and designers are combining new materials from the perspective of modern aesthetics and psychology to develop and theoretically interpret tension shaping. Through the preceding theories, the study introduces artists' works and completes the development and research of pottery coffee cup styling through the concept of tension. It also demonstrates a reverse thinking approach towards ceramic art and expands the design mindset. Tension Shape Design represents a unique visual language and appealing style, rather than a simple specific appearance. However, due to the intricate and complex design process, this paper examines the production process from the design stage to the creation of plaster molds designed to meet structural requirements, and whether such special sculptures can be recognized in the market.
