민화감상과 연계한 유아예술통합프로그램의 효과

국문 초록

현재 교육과정에서 전통문화를 강조함에도 불구하고 서양의 명화 감상은 활발히 연구되고 있는 반면 민화 감상은 소외되고 있다. 민화는 일반 서민들이 제약 없이 자유롭게 그린 옛 그림으로 다양한 동물과 화조, 곤충 등 소재와 표현이 친숙하여 유아들과 정서가 통한다. 따라서 본 연구는 민화감상을 통해서 음악, 춤, 미술, 극놀이 등으로 예술통합프로그램을 진행하고 그 효과를 알아 보았다. 연구대상은 S시에 위치한 K유치원 3-5세 혼합연령 종일반 25명을 선정하여 2014년 4월 첫째 주부터 주2회 8주 동안 연구가 이루어졌다. 연구결과는 다음과 같다. 첫째, 민화감상을 통해 다 양한 영역으로 예술통합프로그램을 구성할 수 있었다. 다양한 미술표상활동과 동작활동이 이루 어졌으며 음악 감상과 극놀이가 함께 이루어졌다. 둘째, 민화의 상징적 의미에 관심을 갖게 되 었고 ‘나도 민화 작가’가 되어 민화 그리기에 흥미와 열정을 보였으며 창의적 그림 표현이 나타 났다. 셋째, 민화 감상 후 이야기 짓기를 할 때 짧은 글이나 동화의 형태로 나타났으며 민화의 제목과 소재에서 내용을 찾았다. 특히 자신의 흥미와 경험에서 창의적인 생각을 떠올렸다. 또한 연령별로 지은 이야기의 내용이 달랐지만 서로 도와가며 이야기가 구성되었다. 넷째, 민화를 감 상하고 민화와 어울리는 음악을 고르는 과정에서 다양한 음악을 감상할 수 있었고, 음악을 고를 때 회기가 지날수록 민화에 어울리는 음악을 찾으려고 집중했다. 다섯째, 예술통합프로그램을 어려워하던 교사도 점차 유아들의 창의적인 생각에 흥미를 보였고, 다양하게 통합적 예술 활동 을 구성했다. 무엇보다도 유아들이 민화에 흥미를 갖게 되었다. 자유놀이 시간에도 민화 감상과 민화 관련 활동을 즐겼고, 자유롭게 그림을 그릴 때에도 민화가 소재가 되었으며 그림 표현력도 향상되었다.

영문 초록

Current curriculum emphasizes Korean traditional culture. However, the research on appreciation of western masterpiece has been actively promoting whereas the research on appreciation of folk paintings has been relatively isolated. Folk paintings are through sentiment with children. Therefore, this study is to investigate the effects of folk painting on the child through the integrated art projects that consist of music, dancing, drawing and dramatic play after the appreciation of folk painting. The study was carried on twenty-five selected early children in a full day class of age three to five of Kindergarten K in S city for eight weeks. The result is as below. Firstly, it was able to compose integrate art program in different areas through folk paintings. Secondly, the interests in the symbol’s meaning of folk painting has been raised. And, excitement and passion for drawing folk painting was shown from the project which is ‘I am the folk painter’ Particularly, creative artistic expression remarkably appears. Thirdly, embellishing stories for dramatic play took forms of short story, poem, and story. Fourthly, based on the creative expressions of musical and artistic inspirations of the writers, it was assumed that early children would be able to think of music which would match the movement in the story. Fifthly, even the teachers who found integrate art program difficult showed interest in creative ideas of early children, and started to compose different integrate art activities. Above all, the children started to find folk paintings interesting. They enjoyed folk painting puzzles and appreciation at free play, using folk painting subjects at free drawing, and even their expression in drawings was improved.
