국문 초록

디자인은 그 시대를 사는 사람들의 사고의 가치와 선호를 반영한다. 오늘날 디자인의 특징은 조형전개에서 개념설정에 보다 큰 가치를 부여하는 경향을 보이고 있다. 디자인에서 개념설정이란 디자인 프로젝트나 그 대상에 고유의 특정한 개념을 설정하여 디자인의 의미부여나 방침 또는 대상물의 형상과 구조를 개념에 부합되도록 형태를 전개하고 의미를 조성하려는 것이다. 디자인은 기술적으로는 과학적 원리와 수리적 체계를 기반으로 용도를 새롭게 하고 창의적 발상으로 조형적 형상을 전개하여 대상물의 각 요소가 정리 되고 독자적 성격을 드러내는 것이다. 그리하여 독창성이 탁월하게 평가되는 대상물은 발명과 같은 부가가치도 창출할 수 있다. 이렇듯 현대디자인은 현대인의 변화 하는 사고와 선호하는 바를 개념에 반영하여 새로운 형상과 환경을 조성하는 역할을 함과 동시에 독창적 가치를 창출하고 새로운 형태의 문화를 형성하게 된다. 디자인의 가치창출과 문화형성은 개념설정과 창의적 발상, 그리고 시대를 이끄는 심미적 요소로서 조형의 변화와 흥미를 제공하며 공간적 미감을 조성하는 역할을 하게 되는 것이다. 디자인은 본질적으로 인간생활과 관계하는 창조적 계획이며 창의적인 조형형성에 의한 실질적인 생산 활동이다. 디자인은 제품의 외형과 성격을 결정하고 사회적 기능을 결정한다.

영문 초록

Design is a scheme to create a new value in terms of creative form activities satisfying its' function and purpose of design. According to the influence of social change, it occasionally occurs that secondary intention shows more valuable than primary one in evaluating design. Today, design is expected to have various values beside a primary purpose that is for only one specific idea. This phenomenon explains expanding methods of creative forms or idea invention in design. Design work and invention is familiar with is meaning because the purpose of design is similar with the process of inventing a new creative object. Design carries aesthetic value as an invention of the acquired copyright professional field. This study is focused on a new methodology for design process in order to reach invention in terms of the creative and practical concept for use. The following addresses three different steps how design activities can motivate invention. First, this author analyzed and researched various literatures focusing on the inspiration for use and creative value of developing form. Second, student works from design studio classes were used as resources in order to demonstrate problem solving for this study. Third, this study explores the relationship between form and use through the analysis of practical and theoretical contents. As a result of this study that design is a primary factor for enhancing the value of goods in contemporary, this author proposed the important fact that “Application of Design Invention” should be considered as an objective in industrial design education. Thus, more significant study and research is necessary to improve industrial design curriculum so that it is more systematical and effective.
