초등 미술 수업 딜레마에 관한 질적 연구

국문 초록

이 연구는 “어떻게 하면 초등미술수업에서 교수(teaching)의 질적 성장을 유도할 수 있을까?”라는 문제의식으로부터 시작되었다. 그동안 교사들에게 제공되었던 미술 교과 교육과정이나 미술 교육 이론들은 보편성을 지향하는 본질적 성향 때문에 개별의 수업들이 지니는 구체적인 문제 상황에 대한 해결에는 필연적으로 한계를 지닐 수밖에 없었다. 따라서 실제 개별의 미술 수업에서 미묘하고 복잡한 문제 상황들을 조절하기 위해서는 새로운 접근 방식이 필요하다. 우리가 초등미술교육에서 교수의 질적성장을 유도하고자 한다면 교수의 질(quality)이 실현되고 있는 수업 현실에서 찾아야 할 것이다(안금희, 2005; 이용숙 외, 2005). 특히 연구자는 미술 수업에서 교사가 겪는 어려움과 갈등의 양상이 무엇인가를 살펴보는 것이 미술 교과 교수(teaching)의 질에 대한 논의의 출발점이 될 수 있으리라 본다.

영문 초록

This study purposes to investigate the teaching dilemmas of elementary teachers in art classrooms, and how they deal with them. For holistic analysis, we use the five dimensions of school education which have been provided by Eisner(2001; 2003). The five dimensions of school education are the intentional dimension, the structure dimension, the curricula dimension, the pedagogical dimension, the evaluative dimension. This study used qualitative research method to observe, understand and interprete the teaching dilemmas. The research methods are participant observation, interviews, and document analysis. For the credibility, this study used triangulation and member check. The five dimensions are following. First, in terms of the intentional dimension, we discussed the teacher's intention vs. student's deviation for fun. The second dimension is about the dilemmas on 1:40 in classroom. The third is the spiral curriculum vs. project method. The forth is the sender vs. helper. The fifth is the grades oriented evaluation vs. the descriptive assessment.
