자폐성장애 교육 관련 국내 연구 동향 : 2014년~2023년 국내 특수교육 관련 학술지 발표 논문을 중심으로

국문 초록

본 연구에서는 최근 10년간 국내 특수교육 관련 학술지에 발표된 자폐성장애(이하 ASD) 교육의 연구 동향을 분석하였다. 2014년 1월부터 2023년 12월까지 국내 특수교육 관련 학술지에 발표된 논문을 연구 목적에 따른 포함 및 제외 기준에 근거하여 687편을 선정하고 연구 주제, 유형, 대상에 대해 분석하였다. 또한 분석대상 논문 중 중재 연구에 해당하는 251편에 대해 구체적인 중재 내용을 분석하였다. 연구 결과, 전체 분석대상 연구에서 다룬 주요 연구 주제는 사회적 상호작용 및 의사소통, 인지 학습 교수 전략 및 개입, 도전적 행동 감소 전략 및 개입에 관한 순으로 나타났다. 연구 유형별로는 중재 연구, 문헌 연구, 조사 연구 순으로 나타났고 연구 대상은 ASD 아동 및 청소년과 초등학생을 대상으로 한 연구가 가장 많았다. 중재 연구에 대한 구체적인 분석 결과, 1명 또는 3명을 대상으로 하고 남자를 대상으로 하며 분리환경에서 시행된 연구가 가장 많았다. 중재 대상의 장애 정도는 논문에서 확인이 어려운 경우가 가장 많았으며 단문 수준의 언어를 사용하는 대상에 대한 연구가 주를 이루었다. 중재자는 연구자가 중재를 시행하고 중재자의 역할과 전문성에 대한 언급이 대체로 많이 이루어진 것으로 나타났다. 중재 장소는 치료실에서 가장 많이 이루어졌으며 11~15회기의 중재를 시행한 연구가 많았다. 실험설계로는 대상자간 중다간헐기초선설계가 가장 많이 적용되었고 중재 충실도, 사회적 타당도, 관찰자간 신뢰도는 대부분의 연구에서 제시되었다. 중재 성과는 사회성 기술을 다룬 연구가 가장 많았고 그 다음으로 도전적 행동, 의사소통, 학업 수행 순으로 나타났다. 중재 전략으로는 강화, 모델링, 촉구, 시각적 지원이 주로 활용되었다. 이러한 연구 결과를 바탕으로 ASD 교육 연구의 시사점과 연구 방향에 대해 논의하였다.

영문 초록

This study analyzed research trends in the education of individuals with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) published in domestic special education journals over the past decade. A total of 687 studies published between January 2014 and December 2023 were selected based on inclusion and exclusion criteria aligned with the study objectives. The selected articles were analyzed in terms of research topics, types, and target populations. Additionally, a detailed analysis was conducted on the intervention methods in 251 studies categorized as intervention research. The results revealed that the primary research topics were social interaction and communication, cognitive learning instructional strategies and interventions, and challenging behavior reduction strategies and interventions, in that order. Regarding research types, intervention studies were most common, followed by literature reviews and survey studies. The majority of studies focused on children and adolescents with ASD, with a particular emphasis on elementary school-aged students. The detailed analysis of intervention studies indicated that most studies targeted one or three participants, predominantly males, and were conducted in segregated settings. Although the severity of disabilities was often unreported, studies focusing on participants with severe disabilities or those with minimal verbal language abilities were prevalent. The intervention implementers were primarily researchers, with frequent mention of their roles and expertise. Intervention settings were most commonly therapy rooms, and the number of intervention sessions typically ranged from 11 to 15. Among experimental designs, multiple baseline designs across participants were the most frequently employed. Most studies reported intervention fidelity, social validity, and interobserver reliability. In terms of intervention outcomes, the most commonly addressed area was social skills, followed by challenging behaviors, communication, and academic performance. Intervention strategies predominantly involved reinforcement, modeling, prompting, and visual supports. Based on these findings, the implications for ASD education research and future directions were discussed.
