라이다와 카메라 센서를 이용한 항만 관측 시스템

국문 초록

항만에서 선박의 접안/이안 중에 발생하는 충돌 사고는 항만과 선박의 시설에 손상을 주며 큰 재정적 손실을 가져오는 중요한 문제이다. 이러한 충돌 사고를 예방하고 관리하기 위하여, 정밀한 항만 관측 시스템이 필요하다. 본 논문에서는 라이다와 카메라의 센서 융합을 통하여 접안/이안하는 선박을 인지하고 선박과 선석의 거리를 추정하는 시스템을 제안한다. 카메라 센서만을 이용하여 항만을 모니터링하는 경우, 항만의 전반적인 상황을 한 번에 알아보기 편하지만 정밀한 인식 결과를 얻을 수 없다는 단점이 있다. 본 연구에서는 이러한 카메라 센서의 단점을 라이다 와의 센서 융합을 통하여 선박의 접안 방향과 거리를 계산하며, 제안한 방법은 실제 울산항에서 취득한 MMSI(Maritime Mobile Service Identity)와 AIS(Automatic Identification System)를 이용하여 검증을 진행하였다.

영문 초록

Collisions that occur during the berthing or unberthing of ships at ports are critical issues, causing damage to both port and ship facilities and leading to significant financial losses. To prevent and manage such collisions, a precise port monitoring system is required. In this paper, we propose a system that detects berthing and unberthing ships and estimates the distance between the ship and quay wall by fusing LiDAR and Camera sensors. When monitoring system using only camera sensors, while it is convenient to see the overall situation of the port, but it is limitation in obtaining precise recognition results. The proposed method overcomes the limitation of camera by fusing LiDAR and calculate the berthing direction and distance of the ship. The proposed method is verified using MMSI(Maritime Mobile Service Identity) and AIS(Automatic Identification System) data acquired from Ulsan Port.
