친밀한 관계 폭력 피해의 위험요인과 보호요인 분석

국문 초록

국외의 친밀한 관계 폭력(IPV) 개념을 중심으로 국내 동거 및 혼인관계에서 발생하는 가정폭력과 교제폭력을 포괄하는 개념 으로 적용하는 것에 대한 논의를 수행한 다음, 친밀한 관계 폭력 피해의 위험요인과 보호요인을 검증하기 위하여 실증연구 통해 분석해 보고자 하였다. 이를 위하여 여성가족부에서 조사한 ‘2022년 가정폭력실태조사 연구’ 2차 데이터 자료를 분석하고자 하 였다. 친밀한 관계 폭력을 신체적, 성적, 정서적, 경제적, 통제 각 5가지 유형별로 경험을 살펴보았고, 통제에 의한 피해가 23.9%로 가장 많았고, 정서적 폭력 5.3%, 성적 폭력 2.7%, 신체적 폭력 1.3%의 순으로 나타났다. 최종적으로 친밀한 관계 폭 력 피해 경험 유무를 종속변인으로 하여 로지스틱 위계적 회귀분석을 실시하였다. 그 결과 통제변인 중 성별, 연령, 학력이 영향 요인으로 나타났고, 위험요인인 아동학대 경험, 성역할 태도, 가정폭력 허용도가 친밀한 관계 폭력 피해 경험에 유의미한 영향을 미치는 것으로 나타났다. 보호요인의 경우 친밀한 관계 폭력과 관련된 법 또는 제도에 대한 인식수준이 친밀한 관계 폭력에 유 의미한 영향을 미쳤다. 이 연구를 바탕으로 친밀한 관계 폭력의 피해를 줄이기 위해 개인적, 사회적, 제도적 접근이 필요하다는 점을 뒷받침할 수 있는 근거자료가 되었으며, 아동기 학대 피해경험과 같은 초기 위험요인 제거 및 관련 법 또는 제도적 보호 강화는 향후 폭력 예방전략을 수립하는데 기초자료로 활용될 것으로 기대할 수 있다.

영문 초록

After discussing the concept of intimate partner violence (IPV) abroad and applying it to domestic violence and relationship violence in domestic partnerships and marriages, we wanted to analyze the risk and protective factors of IPV victimization through empirical research. To do so, we analyzed secondary data from the 2022 Domestic Violence Survey Study conducted by the Ministry of Gender Equality and Family. We examined the experience of each of the five types of intimate relationship violence: physical, sexual, emotional, economic, and control, and found that control was the most common (23.9%), followed by emotional violence (5.3%), sexual violence (2.7%), and physical violence (1.3%). Finally, we conducted a logistic hierarchical regression analysis with intimate partner violence victimization as the dependent variable. The results showed that gender, age, and education were influential factors in the control variables, and the risk factors of childhood abuse experience, gender role attitudes, and domestic violence tolerance had a significant effect on intimate partner violence victimization. In terms of protective factors, awareness of laws or systems related to intimate partner violence had a significant impact on intimate partner violence. This study provides evidence to support the need for individual, social, and institutional approaches to reduce the harm of intimate partner violence, and it is expected that the elimination of early risk factors such as childhood abuse and the strengthening of legal or institutional protections will be used as the basis for future violence prevention strategies.
