국문 초록

본 연구의 목적은 유아 미디어 리터러시 교육에 대한 양육자(부모 및 조부모), 교사, 언론 전문가들의 이해 실태와 요구도를 탐색하는 데 목적이 있다. 이를 위해 D시와 P시의 부모, 조부모, 교사, 언론 전문가 20명을 대상으로 설문 질문지를 작성하고 이를 분석하였다. 그 결과, 첫째, 미디어의 ‘힘’, 즉 미디어의 영향력, 미디어 사용 등의 실태, 둘째, 미디어의 ‘길’에서는 미디어 교육에 대한 인식, 미디어 리터러시 교육에 대한 인지, 셋째, 미디어의 ‘창’에서는 미디어 리터러시 교육을 위한 방향성 제안을 하고 있었다. 본 연구는 영유아 부모, 조부모 및 교사들을 대상으로 하는 미디어 리터러시 교육을 위한 기초자료를 제공할 수 있다는 점에 그 가치를 두고자 한다.

영문 초록

The purpose of this study is to explore the understanding and demands of care-givers (parents and grandparents), teachers, and media professionals on media literacy education for young children. To this end, a questionnaire was administered to 20 parents, teachers, and media professionals from the cities of D and P, and the results were analyzed. The result of the analysis could be summarized into three themes; first, the “power” of media, that is, the influence of media and the actual use of media; second, the “road” of media, that is, the perception of media and the demands of media literacy education; third, the “window” of media, that is, the directional suggestions for media literacy education. The value of this study is to provide basic data for media literacy education for parents and teachers of young children.
