국문 초록

본 연구는 학습자의 역량에 대해 학문적 합의가 이루어지지 못한 상황에 관한 문제점을 인식하며, 지금까지의 역량과 관련된 다양한 논의들이 역량(Competencies) 정의를‘기능’과 같이 능력이나 재주를 일컫는 상태, 상황, 행위로 국한하는 데 있다고 보았다. 이를 위해 Nussbaum의 역량 개념, Greenstein의 지식과 Skills, 역량 측정 방안에 관하여 살펴보았으며, 논의들을 통해 일반 역량을‘인간이 삶의 목적에 따라 성취할 수 있는 다양한 선택의 기회를 갖고 실질적 자유를 통해 구성하며 달성하는 Skills(지식 및 스킬), 태도 및 가치들의 총합 및 집합’으로 정의하였다. 이를 기초로 학습자 역량을‘학습자가 현재와 미래의 삶을 위해 성취할 수 있는 다양한 선택의 기회를 갖고 교육적 제도 및 교사의 역량과 결합함으로써 실질적 자유를 통해 구성하며 달성하는 Skills(지식 및 스킬), 태도 및 가치들의 총합 및 집합’으로 정의하였으며 관련된 역량 모형과 함께 역량 측정 방안을 제안하였다. 이 연구는 학습자의 역량에 대한 개념을 미래교육에 적합하도록 재개념화하여 학습자의 역량을 평가하기 위한 새로운 평가 방안을 제안하고 추후 다각적인 관점의 연구들을 끌어낼 수 있다는 데 연구의 의의가 있다.

영문 초록

This study recognized the problem of disagreement on defining the concept of‘capability’ and considered that various discussions related to capability so far have a reason for the state, situation, and behavior that refer to the definition of competencies as ability of talent, such as ‘function.’ Therefore, this study suggested reconception of capability in accordance with the one in Nussbaum’s Capability Approach (2013). To this end, the concept of capability by Nussbaum and the measurement of knowledge, skills, and capabilities by Greenstein were examined. Based on the discussion, the learner’s capabilities were defined as the sum and collection of knowledge, skills, attitudes, and values achieved and formed through practical freedom by combining them with educational systems and teachers’capabilities and various opportunities to be achieved for the present and future lives of the learners, and general capabilities were defined as the sum and collection of knowledge, skills, attitudes, and values achieved and formed through practical freedom that human beings can accomplish with a variety of choices according to the purpose of their lives, and the related capability model was proposed. This is significant in that it proposed a new assessment method to evaluate the learner' capabilities by reconceptualizing the concept of learner' capabilities to be suitable for future education.
