국문 초록

연구목적 이 연구는 지체장애 청소년이 자신에게 주어진 여가 시간을 어떻게 활용하고 있으며, 지체장애 청소년에게 여가의 의미는 무엇인지를 살펴보고자 하였다. 연구방법 지체장애 청소년의 여가 생활 경험을 살펴보기 위해, 지체장애 유형 중 뇌성마비, 외상성뇌손상, 근이영양증에 해당하는 지체장애 청소년 5명을 대상으로 질적 면담을 수행하고, 질적 분석 방법을 활용하였다. 연구결과 이 연구의 구체적인 결과는 다음과 같다. 첫째, 지체장애 청소년은 여가를 긍정적으로 인식하고 있었지만, 새로운 여가 활동의 시도에는 소극적인 태도를 나타내고 있었다. 둘째, 지체장애 청소년은 여가 활동 참여를 통해 사회성과 자립심을 기를 수 있었고, 자신의 적성에 대한 탐구뿐만 아니라 미래 직업을 준비하는 기회로도 활용하였다. 셋째, 지체장애 청소년은 신체적인 움직임의 제한으로 여가 활동에 참여하는데 다양한 어려움을 경험하였으며, 이를 해결하기 위해 인적 지원과 이동 지원이 필요하다고 하였다. 결론 지체장애 청소년의 적극적인 여가 활동 참여를 위해 학교와 지역사회에 여가 시설 개선, 여가 프로그램 활성화, 그리고 또래와 함께하는 여가 기회의 증대가 요구된다.

영문 초록

Purpose: This study investigated how adolescents with physical disabilities spent their leisure time and what their leisure time meant to themselves. Methods: To look at the adolescents’ leisure experiences, five adolescents with cerebral palsy, traumatic brain injury, or muscular dystrophy participated in this study. The interviews with them were qualitatively collected and analyzed. Results: The results of the study were as follows. First, the adolescents recognized leisure with a positive attitude, but the adolescents had a passive attitude toward the attempt to try to engage in new leisure activities. Second, the adolescents believed that their social skills and self-reliance through leisure activities were enhanced. Moreover, the adolescents had a chance to prepare for exploration of aptitude as well as their future jobs through leisure activities. Third, the adolescents had diverse difficulties in participating in leisure activities due to their physical restrictions. Therefore, they requested more human and mobility support. Conclusion: Facilitation of leisure activities, activation of leisure programs, and opportunity to participate in leisure with peers are required for the adolescents with physical disabilities so that they might participate in leisure activities.
