The paper sums up the mainstream perspectives about tragic themes in , and gets the conclusion that instinct is the most convincing theme of them.The author expresses ideas from the perspectives of impetus of creation, motility of drama, significance of instinct, and tragic of instinct etc. it concludes that the most attractive point in the drama lies in the exposure of the manipulation of instinct over the human life. The personalities in the drama live tragic lives. Against the tragic background of instinct, tragic factors of class conflict, mental confusion, and sensibility complexity have been lively, and powerfully explored; moreover intent drama effect has been achieved.After analyzing viewpoints of others, the paper follows the thoughts of Mr. Cao-Yu, and grasps the thread of scenario, the use of language, antinomy in drama, and inherent conflict.
