국문 초록

본 연구는 주제 선택 여부에 따른 중학생 필자의 설명글 쓰기 수행과 쓰기 동기 차이를 비교한 실증 연구이다.이 연구에는 서울시 중학생 196명이 참여하였고,두 차시에 걸쳐 수집한 학생들이 작성한 주제 제시형 설명글 쓰기와 쓰기 동기,주제 선택형 설명글 쓰기와 쓰기 동기를 분석했다. 본 연구의 주요 결과는 크게 네 가지다.첫째,대응 표본t-검정 결과 중학생 필자들은 주제 제시형 쓰기에 비해 주제 선택형 쓰기를 수행할 때 쓰기 유창성(글자,단어,문장 수)이 높고 소요 시간이 길었다.둘째,대응 표본t-검정 결과 중학생 필자들은 주제 선택형 쓰기에 비해 주제 제시형 쓰기에서 글이 질적으로 우수했는데,글의 내용과표현 영역의 점수 차이가 유의했다.셋째,대응 표본t-검정 결과 중학생 필자들은 주제 제시형 쓰기에 비해 주제 선택형 쓰기에서 쓰기 동기가 높았는데,특히 쓰기 태도와 쓰기 효능감의 차이가 유의했다.넷째,쓰기 수준별 집단에 따른 쓰기 동기를onewayANOVA로 검증한 결과 주제 제시 유형에 따른 민감도는 상>하>중 집단 수준으로 컸다.

영문 초록

This study empirically compared differences between the expository writing performance and writing motivation of secondary student writers according to whether they selected a topic. In total, 196 middle school students from Seoul participated in this study, which analyzed the associations of the student’s topic-presented and topic-selective expository writing in two sessions with their motivation. This study found the following. First, a paired sample t-test showed that secondary students had higher writing fluency(number of letters, words, sentences) and took longer when performing topic-selective writing than topic-presented writing. Second, the paired sample t-test, showed that secondary students achieved better writing quality(only content and expression were significant). Third, paired sample t-test, found that secondary students had higher motivation(just in writing attitude and writing efficacy were significant) for topic-selective writing. Fourth, one-way ANOVA of writing motivation according to the group by writing level found that the sensitivity to the type of topic presentation increased in the order upper > lower > middle group levels.
