국문 초록

이 글은 COVID-19 팬데믹의 파장을 형상화한 작품에 ‘팬데믹리얼리즘’이라는 명칭을 부여한다. 2010년대 전후의 감염병 모티프 소설과 2020년대의 그것을 비교분석하여 팬데믹리얼리즘의 특수성을 규명한다. 분석대상작품은, 팬데믹대응문법이 ‘재현’이라는 관점으로 감염병의 사회적 파장을 선도적으로 형상화한다. 이 서사들은 문학으로 사회를 바라보게 한다는 점에서 의미가 있다. 최근 우리 사회의 청년세대와 전통세대간 인식충돌과 갈등의 현주소를 픽션 안으로 수평이동한 것이다. 이전시대의 견고한 가치들에 의문을 제기하면서 변화에 대한 기대를 담고 있다. 팬데믹체제의 텍스트를 다음 같은 관점에서 살폈다. 돌봄과 관련하여 여전한 관습과 제도적 공백에 대한 보완을 요청하는 문학적 기록물이라는 측면이다. 그렇게함으로써 근대의 마을공동체는 물론, 현대의 가족공동체·동아리(동호인)공동체·노년단독가구의 현실태를 적시할 수 있다. 팬데믹이 여전히 아노미상태인 지금, 아픈 주체는 인간만이 아니며, 팬데믹증후군의 연쇄 안에 인간이 있을 뿐이다. 때문에 팬데믹리얼리즘은 당대적 특수성과 미래가치를 포괄하는 창안물이어야 한다는 논점을 제공한다.

영문 초록

This paper grants the name of ‘pandemic realism’ to the works that embodied the impact of the COVID-19 Pandemic. It compares and analyzes novels with the motif of infectious diseases in the 2010s and novels with the same motif in the 2020s to clarify the unique characteristics of pandemic realism. Target works of the analysis have the pandemic-responsive grammar of the viewpoint of ‘representation’ and initiatively embodies the social impact of the infectious disease. These narrations are meaningful in that they make us look at society with literature. just the horizontal movement of the current state of the recent perception-collisions and conflicts between the young and old generations of this society. It contains expectations for change, questioning the solid values of the previous era. This paper analyzes the texts of the Pandemic System from the following viewpoints: Above all, they are literary records of the still remaining customs for care and the request for the supplementation of the systematical gap. Then, it is possible to see rightly the current state of the contemporary family community, club (membership) community, and the single elderly household as well as the modern village community. At the moment, when the Pandemic is still in anomie, the subjects who suffer are not human beings, but just they are in a series of pandemic syndromes. Therefore, this paper presents the viewpoint that pandemic realism should be the creations containing contemporary uniqueness and futuristic value.
