국문 초록

본 연구는 가상세계로서 메타버스와 신화가 갖는 공통점에 착안하여 메타버스 플랫폼을 통해 신화의 세계관을 재현하고 그것의 학술적, 교육적 가치와 콘텐츠 산업으로의 발전 가능성에 대해 고찰했다. 이를 위해 우선 가상적 세계관으로서 메타버스와 신화의 특성을 비교하고 이를 통해 메타버스를 활용한 신화적 세계관 재현의 가능성을 확인해보았다. 그리고 이 가능성에 기반하여 중국문헌신화를 대표하는 《산해경(山海經)》의 세계인식을 고찰하고 이를 비대면 회의용 메타버스 플랫폼 ‘게더타운(gather.town)’으로 구현했다. 아울러 학부 강의에서 ‘게더타운(gather.town)’으로 구현한 《산해경》의 활용 사례를 소개하고 이 과정에서 확인했던 향후 보완점과 활용 방안에 대해 논의했다.

영문 초록

This study represented a worldview of myth through a metaverse platform, focusing on the commonalities of metaverse and myth as a virtual world, and examined its academic, educational values and possibilities of development into the content industry. For these, first, the features of metaverse and myth as a virtual worldview were compared, and through that, it was varified that the possibility of representation a mythical worldview using metaverse. Based on this possibility, the worldview of the Shanhaijing, which represents Chinese myths, was reproduced with “gather.town” as a metaverse platform for non-face-to-face meetings. In addition, this study introduced the case of using metaverse Shanhaijing in the undergraduate class and discussed future supplementary points and ways to use them.
