영문 초록

Protoslavic *godě, in Serbian language, has lost its primary adverbial meaning, but it developed new meanings and functions based on that (adverbial) meaning. The function of the adversative conjunction (reduplicated and in combination with the particle si – gody si… gody si…) is affirmed only in the Charter of Ban Kulin. The only trace of this old word in the contemporary Serbian is preserved in particle god, which is used in postposition of some pronouns, adverbs and conjunctions. At the dialectal level, this particle has different forms.
