국문 초록

컨테이너항만의 효율성 분석과 관련하여 군집화 방식을 시도한 연구는 극히 드물며, 분석 결과의 시각화 또한 매우 제한적으로 수행되어 왔다. 이러한 측면에서 본 연구는 전통적 방식의 효율성 분석 결과에 군집분석(CA)을 통한 군집화와 다차원척도법(MDS)을 통한 시각화를 접목시켜 기존 연구와 차별화 된 방향성을 제시하였다. 분석 대상은 ’19년 기준 세계 물동량의 약 80% 이상을 차지하는 33개의 컨테이너항만이며, ’11년 이후 ’19년까지의 자료를 활용하였다. 연구방법으로는 DEA 효율성 분석 및 맘퀴스트 생산성 분석을 수행하였으며, 군집분석 및 MDS를 통해 항만들 간 특성을 파악할 수 있는 군집 총 5개를 좌표평면 상에 형성하였다. 최종 분석 결과, 세계 항만 중 효율성 및 생산성 지표 모두에서 높은 값을 보인 상하이항과 앤트워프항이 가장 효율적인 항만으로 나타났다. 국내 항만에서는 부산항과 평택당진항은 효율성은 낮으나 생산성에서는 높은 수치를 보이는 군집에 속하여 장기적으로는 발전 가능성이 높은 항만으로 나타났다. 반면, 광양항은 효율성과 생산성 지표 모두 가장 낮은 군집에 속하여 정부 차원의 대책 수립이 필요한 것으로 분석되었다. 마지막으로 인천항은 중위권의 효율성 수준을 보유한 것으로 나타났다.

영문 초록

Purpose : Research that analyzes the efficiency of container ports and studies that combine clustering are extremely rare, and studies that combine visualization are rarely found. Therefore, in this respect, the purpose was to attempt a new direction for efficiency analysis by combining clustering through cluster analysis and visualization through MDS. Research design, data, methodology : The analysis targets were 33 container ports, which account for more than 80% of the world s volume as of 2019, and data from 2011 to 2019 were collected. At first, CCR, BCC efficiency analysis, and Malmquist productivity analysis were conducted and three results were merged to form new data. And then MDS and cluster analysis were performed to form five clusters on the coordinate plane to understand the characteristics between ports. Results : Clusters including Shanghai Port and Antwerp Port, which have very high values in the three efficiency and productivity indicators, were the most efficient clusters. Based on domestic ports, Gwangyang Port was equally allocated to the least efficient clusters, confirming that it was an inefficient port. Conclusions : This study presents a new direction to supplement the efficiency analysis of container ports, and showed the advantage of being able to easily grasp the efficiency status of each port.
