제시방법, 필러 유사성, 연령의 삼원 상호작용을 바탕으로 한 라인업 정확성 분석

국문 초록

본 연구는 범죄 수사 장면에서 흔히 활용하는 라인업의 정확성을 비교하여 기존의 연구결과들을 통합하고 새로운 관점을 제시하기 위한 두 가지 목적으로 수행한 연구이다. 따라서 본 연구에서는 기존 연구들에서 상반된 결과를 보고하고 있는 변인들을 선택하여 효과를 탐색하였다. 이에 따라 시스템 변인 2개와 평가자 변인 1개를 바탕으로 연구를 수행했다. 시스템 변인 중 라인업의 제시방법과 필러의 유사성을 바탕으로 변인 간의 상호작용을 통해 보다 복잡한 영향을 탐색하였다. 평가자 변인 중에서는 연령을 선택하여 세 가지 변인의 상호작용을 탐색하였다. 결과적으로 피험자를 성인 초기와 성인 중기로 나누어 4가지 라인업(낮은 유사성의 동시제시 라인업, 낮은 유사성의 연속제시 라인업, 높은 유사성의 동시제시 라인업, 높은 유사성의 연속제시라인업)의 정확성을 분석했다. 본 연구는 기존의 연구가 가지고 있는 한계점을 보완하기 위해 새로운 방법론을 채택하고 분석하여 결과를 제시했다. 연구 결과 성인 초기에 해당하는 목격자들은 높은 유사성의 동시제시 라인업에서 가장 우수한 수행을 보고했으며, 성인 중기에 해당하는 목격자들은 높은 유사성의 연속제시 라인업에서 가장 우수한 수행을 보고했다. 본 연구는 이러한 결과를 바탕으로 범죄 수사 장면에서 참고할 수 있는 이상적인 라인업을 제시함과 동시에 학문적, 실용적 시사점을 제시하고자 했다.

영문 초록

Current study was conducted for the purpose of intergrating existing research results and presenting a new perspective by comparing the accuracy of thr lienup commonly used in crime investigation. Therefore, current study explored more complex effects through interaction between two system variables, fillier similarity and presentation method. In addition we wxplored the interaction of three variables added age which was often neglected. Therefore, the accuracy of the low-similarity simultaneous lineup, low-similarity sequential lineup, high-similarity simultaneous lineup, and high-similarity sequential lineup was analyzed based on age. Current study adopted and analyzed a new methodology to compensate for the limitations of existing studies and presented the results. Studies have shown that early adult witnesses reported the best performance in the simultaneous presentation lineup of high similarity, while mid-adult witnesses reported the best performance in the sequential presentation lineup of high similarity. Based on these results, current study attempted to present an ideal lineup that can be referenced in the crime investigation scene and at the same time, academic and practical implications.
