국문 초록

이 논문은 디아스포라 문학의 관점에서 김숨의 소설 『떠도는 땅』에 재현된 기억과 목소리를 탐색한 글이다. 이글의 논의는 그간 작가가 천착해왔던 역사적 경험을 소설로 형상화한 작품을 탐색하는 작업이자, 기억, 공간, 목소리라는 서사성의 요소와 세 요소 간의 접합에 주목한 연구라고 할 수 있다. 작가 김숨은 고려인 강제이주(1937)의 비극이라는 역사적 기억과 작중인물의 개인적 기억을 결합하고 작가의식을 보태어 문학적 기억으로 재현한다. 『떠도는 땅』에서는 작가의 공간적 상상력이 촘촘히 누벼져 있는데, 고려인 디아스포라의 삶과 연관된 공간은 모국인 식민지 조선, 이주국인 러시아 연해주, 중앙아시아다. 서사 속에서 이 ‘기억의 공간’은 농사를 짓고 정주할 ‘땅(흙)’으로 실물화된다. 이처럼 고려인 디아스포라의 기억의 공간은 뿌리내리고 정주하고 싶은 역사공동체의 욕망을 담은 공간이라고 할 수 있다. 다중 초점화를 수반한 복수 화자의 목소리와 다양한 소리로 드러나는 다성성은 국가 및 민족의 다중적 정체성을 발현한다. 서사는 고려인 디아스포라 존재의 정체성이 혼종적이며, 존재론적 인식에 있어서도 개별적 사례로 인식해야 함을 역설한다. 각기 사연을 품은 『떠도는 땅』의 인물들은 고통스러운 삶의 여건에서도 생존을 향한 의지, 생명력을 간단없이 견지해나간다. 작가 김숨은 『떠도는 땅』을 통해 유맹의 삶을 사는 존재들의 기억과 목소리를 재현함으로써 디아스포라의 존재론적 가치를 문학적으로 증언하고 있다.

영문 초록

This thesis is an article with the search for memory and voice recreated in the novel 『Wandering Land』 of Kim Soom with the point of view of Diaspora literature. Discussion on this article can be attributable to be the study with the focus on combining three elements of memory, space and voice that searched on the works formulating the historic experience for the author to scrutinize to this point. The author, Kim Soom combines the historic memory from the tragedy of mandated migration of Goryeo people (1937) with the personal memory of characters in the work and represented it in literature memory by adding his professionalism, In 『Wandering Land』, the spatial imagination of the author has been thoroughly depicted and the space related to the life of Goryeo people, Diaspora, embracing Joseon, the colonized land of its home country, Siberia State of Russia, its migrated country, and Central Asia. In the narrative, this ‘Erinnerungsräume’ is depicted and visualized as the ‘land (earth)’ for farming and settlement. As such, the Erinnerungsräume for people of Goryeo in Diaspora could be described as the space to contain the desire of historic community where they want to set their foot on and settle down. The polyphony appearing in voice of multiple speakers accompanied with multiple focalization and diversified sound manifests the multiple identity of state and people. The narrative states that the identity of Goryeo people as being of Diaspora is a type of hybrid while it is to be acknowledged as an individual case with respect to existential awareness. The characters of 『Wandering Land』 with the respective stories unyieldingly sustained its strong drive and vitality toward the existence under the turbulent life condition. The author, Kim Soom, represented the memory and voice of existence for the lives of Yumaeng (wandering people, nomad) through his 『Wandering Land』 in a way of testifying the existential value of Diaspora in literature.
