국문 초록

본 연구는 초등학생의 신체상 인식에 따른 자기표현 및 대인관계의 특성을 알아보기 위해서 성별과 학년에 따른 신체상 인식, 자기표현과 대인관계의 차이 및 이 변수들 간의 관계를 살펴보았다. 235명의 초등학교 고학년 학생들을 대상으로 조사한 결과, 성별에 따른 차이는 대인관계에서만 유의하였으며, 학년에 따른 차이는 모든 변수에서 유의하지 않은 것으로 나타났다. 이는 남학생에 비해 여학생이 타인에 대한 친밀감, 민감성 및 타인을 이해하는 능력에서 더 우수하며, 친구관계를 폭넓고 원만하게 유지하는 것을 의미한다. 또한 초등학생들이 자신의 신체상을 긍정적으로 지각할수록 이들의 자기표현 및 대인관계가 모두 긍정적인 것으로 나타났다. 이러한 결과들은 급격한 성장과 변화를 경험하는 초등학교 고학년 학생들이 대인관계를 잘 맺고, 자신 있게 자기를 표현할 수 있도록 하기 위해서 이들에게 긍정적인 신체상을 갖도록 많은 관심과 교육적 노력이 필요함을 시사한다.

영문 초록

This study was to examine the characteristics of self-expression and interpersonal relation according to body-image recognition of primary students. For this purpose, the study investigated whether there was any difference of body-image recognition, self-expression, and interpersonal relation according to gender and grades, as well as whether there was any relationship among above three variables. The results showed that significant difference was only shown in the interpersonal relation according to gender. It is suggested that girl students are more friendly, sensitive, and understanding; also better to maintain a board and amicable relationship between friends compared with boy students. Besides, the more primary students perceive their body-image positively, the more they have positive self- expression and interpersonal relation. It is suggested that more concern and educational effort about primary students to take positive body-image would be needed, in order to maintain a amicable interpersonal relation and express themselves confidently.
