경제적 의존도와 감사품질의 관련성

국문 초록

본 연구는 감사품질과 감사인의 피감사회사에 대한 경제적 의존도의 관련성을 실증분석하였다. 본 연구에서는 감사보수, 비감사보수, 비감사보수비율 그리고 전체 회계법인의 총매출액 중 해당 피감사회사의 비감사보수 비율 등을 이용하여 수정 존스모형을 이용하여 측정한 감사품질의 대리변수인 재량적 유동발생액과 이들 변수간의 관련성을 실증분석하였다. 본 연구의 결과는 감사품질과 감사보수 사이에 유의한 음(-)의 관련성을 관찰하였고, 이것은 감사품질이 감사인의 경제적 의존도 중 감사보수에 의해 훼손되지 않음을 시사한다. 본 연구는 감사품질과 비감사보수 및 비감사보수비율 사이에 유의한 관련성을 발견할 수 없었다. 그러나 본 연구는 감사품질과 경제적 의존도 변수 중 전체 회계법인의 총매출액 중 해당 피감사회사의 비감사보수 비율 사이에 유의한 양(+)의 관련성이 나타나고, 이것은 감사품질과 비감사서비스의 관련성이 비감사서비스에 대한 경제적 의존도를 어떻게 측정하는가에 따라 달라질 수 있음을 의미한다.

영문 초록

This paper examines a relationship between audit quality and economic dependence. Using audit fees, non-audit fee, the ratio of non-audit fee divided by total fee and the ratio of non-audit fees divided by the audit firm’s revenues as measures of client importance, this paper investigates their association with Jones-model abnormal current accruals. In this paper, we find a statistically significant negative association between abnormal accruals and audit fees, which means that audit quality is not impaired by audit services. We find no evidence that the associations between non-audit service fees, the ratio of non-audit fee divided by total fee and audit quality are significant. But, the results of empirical test shows that the coefficient of the ratio of non-audit fees divided by the audit firm’s revenues on audit quality is significantly positive, which means that the relationship between audit quality and non-audit service changes in the measure methods of non-audit services on economic dependence.
