구조방정식모형에서 매개효과 검정을 위한 간접효과의 추정과 검정

국문 초록

매개변수(mediator variable)는 설명변수와 반응변수 사이의 관계를 설명하는 변수로 정의될 수 있다. 매개효과(mediated effect)는 매개변수의 영향력을 의미하는데, 매개효과 분석을 위하여 가장 널리 사용되는 방법은 회귀분석(regression analysis)과 구조방정식모형(structural equation model)이다. 최근에는 여러 가지 장점을 이유로 구조방정식모형이 많이 사용되고 있는 추세이다. 본 논문에서는 매개효과 검증을 위해 회귀분석을 이용하는 전통적인 방법을 소개하고, 구조방정식모형을 이용하여 동일한 절차를 쉽게 처리할 수 있음을 살펴볼 것이다. 또한 여러 개의 매개변수가 존재하는 경우 매개효과 검정을 위해 추정치의 분산을 추정하는 Sobel(1986)의 결과를 사용가능한 범위 내에서 구체적으로 표현하여, 일반 연구자들이 매개효과 검정을 쉽게 적용할 수 있도록 도움을 주고자 한다.

영문 초록

A mediator variable can be defined as a variable that describe the relationships between explanatory variable and response variable. The mediated effect refers to the influence of the mediator variable, regression analysis and structural equation modeling are widely used methods to analyze the mediated effect. In recent years, structural equation model is increasingly used in trend due to a number of advantages. In this paper, for the verification of the mediated effect, the approach using regression analysis is introduced, we show that it is easier to use structural equation modeling in order to test mediated effect. In addition, if there is a number of mediator variables, some of Sobel (1986)’s results are expressed explicitly to estimate the variances (standard errors) of estimates. It will help that researchers in many fields can easily perform the verification of mediated effect.
