대학의 토익 영어수업에서 혼합학습이 학업성취도에 미치는 영향에 관한 연구

국문 초록

대학의 정규과정에 온라인 학습이 도입되는 이유는 교육의 효과 증대, 교육비 절감, 강의실 부족현상의 완화, 장거리 통학학생이나 직업을 가지고 있는 학습자들에게 편의 제공 등 여러 가지가 될 수 있다. 본 연구는 토익 과목의 학업성취도에 영향을 주고 있는 요인들을 파악하여 이 과목이 채택하고 있는 혼합학습 수업방식의 교육적 효과를 파악하는 것이다. 이를 위해 학습자들의 사전테스트 점수와 사후테스트 점수 및 최종 학기성적을 취합하여 학습자들의 학업성취도와 온라인 학습만족도 간의 관계를 분석하였다. 그 결과 온라인 학습참여도, 교강사 만족도 및 사전테스트 점수 등이 최종 학기성적이나, 사후테스트 점수 및 학업성취도에 영향을 미치는 것으로 나타났다. 또한 온라인 학습만족도 면에서도 교강사 만족도와 콘텐츠 만족도 및 시스템 만족도 간에는 밀접한 상관관계가 있는 것으로도 연구되었다. 이에 따르면 온라인 학습을 겸한 혼합학습이 토익 성적에 영향을 미치는 것은 물론 그 참여 횟수에 따라 학습 후의 성적에 차이가 있는 것으로 분석되었다.

영문 초록

The major reasons for adapting online-learning methods in universities’ regular courses are improving effectiveness of education, reducing educational expenses, alleviating lack of classroom, providing convenience for students commuting long distances, and so on. The purpose of this study is to realize causes affecting academic achievement of a TOEIC class and effectiveness of blended learning applied in the class. To this end, we collected scores of pre-test and post-test from students, and then, we analyzed the relationship between academic achievement and satisfaction of online-learning. The results show that involvement of online-learning, student satisfaction for instructor, and pre-test score do affect post-test score, final-test score, and academic achievement. In addition, in terms of satisfaction of online-learning, there are strong relationships among satisfactions of instructor, content, and system. In this regard, blended learning combined with online and offline strategies for a TOEIC class influences TOEIC score. Specifically, the number of participation of online- learning affected TOEIC score.
