중년남성의 우울, 외로움, 사회적 지지가 노화불안에 미치는 영향

국문 초록

본 연구는 중년남성의 우울과 외로움, 사회적지지, 노화불안의 정도를 파악하고 노화불안에 영향을 미치는 관련요인들을 알아보기 위한 서술적 상관관계 연구이다. 본 연구의 대상자는 S시, C도, K도, I시에 거주하는 중년남성 167명을 편의표집 하였으며, 자료수집은 2014년 12월 8일부터 2015년 4월 30일까지 이루어졌다. 자료분석은 SAS 9.4 통계프로그램을 이용하여 t-검정(t-test), 분산분석(ANOVA), Pearson s 상관분석 및 다중회귀분석을 실시하였다. 연구결과 노화불안은 우울(r=.405, p<.001), 외로움(r=.444, p<.001)과는 유의한 정적상관관계, 사회적 지지(r=-.307, p<.001)와는 유의한 부적상관관계가 있는 것으로 나타났으며, 대상자가 지각하는 우울은 외로움(r=.455, p<.001)과는 유의한 정적상관관계, 사회적 지지(r=-.039, p<.001)와는 부적상관관계를 보였다. 외로움은 사회적 지지(r=-.535, p<.001)와 유의한 부적상관관계가 있는 것으로 나타났다. 대상자의 노화불안에 영향을 미치는 변수로는 외로움(=0.326, p<0.001), 우울(=0.248, p<0.001), 연령(=-0.135, p=0.046)으로 나타났으며 이 변수들은 대상자의 노화불안에 대해 25.4%의 설명력을 보였다. 연구결과를 바탕으로 중년남성들이 노화불안을 느끼지 않으면서 성공적인 노화를 맞이하기 위해서는 외로움과 우울을 예방할 수 있는 중재 방안이 필요하다. 이를 위해 중년남성들의 사회적 지지 체계를 강화하는 커뮤니티 형태의 자기계발 프로그램이 요구된다. 노년기가 길어지는 중년남성들의 삶의 질을 높이기 위해서는 노화불안과 관련된 다양한 차원의 요인 변수들을 포함한 추후 연구가 필요할 것으로 사료된다.

영문 초록

The purpose of this study was to identify the level of aging anxiety, depression, loneliness, and social support in middle aged men and to understand the relationships among those variables. From December 14th, 2014 to April 30th, 2015, data was collected through convenience sampling of 167 middle-aged men based on Seoul city, Chungbuk province, Gyeonggi province, and Incheon city. To obtain objective conclusions from the resulting data, we performed statistical analysis of t-test, ANOVA, Pearson s correlation coefficients, and multiple regression analysis through the statistical package, SAS 9.4. Variables that affect aging anxiety include individual s depression, loneliness, and age, the total explanation of aging anxiety was 25.4%. Aging anxiety is significantly related with the individual s depression (r=.405, p<.001), loneliness (r=.444, p<.001), and social support (r=-.307, p<.001). Depression is significantly related to loneliness and social support. Loneliness is significantly related to social support. Based on this study, successful aging in middle-aged men without aging anxiety requires intervention measures to prevent loneliness and depression. Furthermore, other variables related to aging anxiety in middle aged men will need to be considered for the next following research.
