목표자극과 방해자극의 일치조건과 불일치조건에서의 반응시간 차이분석

국문 초록

본 연구는 Ministry of Justice(2014)의 연구에서 개인의 일탈적 성적기호를 측정하려는 목적으로 개발한 성인남자, 성인여자, 아동남자, 아동여자의 인물사진 자극들을 목표자극과 방해자극의 일치조건과 불일치 조건으로 새로이 개발하여 개인의 주의특성을 살펴보려고 성범죄 경력이 없는 일반인과 성범죄자 집단 간에 반응시간의 차이를 분석하였다. 그 결과, 일반인과 성범죄 집단에 따라 성별이나 연령 조건이 목표자극이 되는 경우, 방해자극이 목표자극과 일치할 때와 불일치할 때의 반응시간에서 성범죄 집단이 일반인보다 더 느린 반응이 나타났다. 또한 성별이나 연령 조건이 목표자극이 되는 경우, 방해자극들이 목표자극과 완전히 일치할 때와 성별이나 연령 조건이 방해자극들과 하나라도 불일치할 때의 반응시간에서도 성범죄 집단이 일반인보다 역시 더 느리게 나타났다. 성범죄자 분류에 대한 선행연구에서 중요 자극으로 언급되는 성인여자나 아동여자 자극이 목표자극이 되고 다양한 유형의 방해자극이 있을 때의 반응시간과 성인여자나 아동여자 자극만이 단독조건으로 제시되는 반응시간과의 차이 값을 분석한 결과, 일반인 집단은 아무런 차이가 없었다. 그러나 성범죄 집단은 자극 조건에 따라 다양한 차이를 보여주었다. 본 연구결과들을 종합해보면, 목표자극과 방해자극의 일치조건과 불일치 조건에 대한 다양한 조건자극들에 대한 개인의 반응시간 분석은 향후 개인의 일탈적 성적기호를 분류하고 평가하는 데 의미 있는 결과로 활용될 수 있음을 시사하고 있다.

영문 초록

This study employed a set of female and male picture stimuli of adult and children developed by the Ministry of Justice (2014) and measured reaction time to analyze attentional differences between sexual offenders and participants without history of sexual offence in congruent and incongruent conditions of targets and distractors. In both congruent and incongruent conditions, when the target stimuli were gender and age, we found slower reaction time for the sexual offender group compared to participants without history of sexual offence. In addition, the offender group revealed slower reaction time for conditions which target gender and age perfectly matched distractor gender and age and this effect was also present when the target and distractor did not match in at least one aspect of gender or age. Previous research revealed no group difference for a condition which female adults and female children were presented individually as a target. However, sexual offenders showed various differences according to stimuli conditions. Lastly, for classifying sexual offenders into pedophiles and non pedophiles, the reaction time differences upon viewing female adult targets and male distractors were revealed to be critical. To conclude, individual differences in reaction time on diverse targets and distractors in congruent and incongruent conditions will shed lights on classifying individuals with deviant sexual orientation.
