중환자실 간호사의 환자안전문화에 대한 인식과 환자안전역량

국문 초록

안전사고 발생 시 환자의 생명과 직결되는 중환자실에서의 환자안전문화의 형성과 중환자실 간호사의 환자안전역량은 환자안전을 위하여 필수적이다. 따라서 본 연구는 조사연구로 G광역시 소재 상급종합병원 성인 중환자실에 근무하는 간호사 122명을 대상으로 한국형 환자안전문화 측정도구와 환자안전역량 측정도구를 사용하여 환자안전문화에 대한 인식과 환자안전역량을 조사하고, 환자안전문화 대한 인식과 환자안전역량과의 상관성을 파악하였다. 수집된 자료를 SPSS/WIN 20.0 프로그램을 이용하여 기술통계, t-test, ANOVA, Pearson 상관계수(correlation coefficient)로 분석한 결과, 중환자실 간호사의 환자안전문화에 대한 인식은 3.55점/5점, 환전안전역량은 3.81점/5점으로 나타났다. 환자안전문화에 대한 인식은 성별(t=2.09, p=.039)과 중환자실 근무경력(F=2.71, p=.048)에 따라, 환자안전역량은 직위(t=-2.13, p=.035)와 안전업무 담당경험(t=2.45, p=.016)에 따라 유의한 차이가 있었다. 또한 중환자실간호사의 환자안전문화에 대한 인식 총점과 환자안전역량 총점은 양의 상관관계(r=.662)를 나타냈다. 중환자실에서의 환자안전 증진을 도모하기 위해서는 조직문화의 형성과 환자안전을 우선순위에 두는 의식의 전환, 안전 관련 교육 등을 통한 환자안전문화에 대한 인식과 환자안전역량 증진을 위한 체계적인 노력이 필요하다.

영문 초록

This study was to identify nurses’ perception on patient safety culture and patient safety competencies in intensive care units (ICUs). The data were collected from 122 ICU nurses in a tertiary hospital in G city by using the Korean patient culture survey instrument and patient safety competencies measurement tool. Data were analyzed by using SPSS 20.0 program for descriptive statistics, t-test, ANOVA with post-hoc test, and Pearson s correlation coefficient. The results showed that the level of the ICU nurses’ perception on patient safety culture was the mean of 3.55 and patient safety competencies were the mean of 3.81 out of the total score 5. There were significant differences in their perception according to gender (t=2.09, p=.039) and ICU experiences (F=2.71, p=.048) and in their competencies according to position (t=-2.13, p=.035) and working experience in safety management (t=2.45, p=.016). There was a positive correlation (r=.662) between total scores of the perception on patient safety culture and patient safety competencies of nurses. Results suggest that systemic efforts to promote nurses’ perception and patient safety competencies for patient safety in the ICU and to create organizational culture is required.
