부모의 양육 스트레스와 아동의 언어·수리 학업능력의 관계

국문 초록

아동의 학업능력을 측정하고 관리하는 것은 중요하다. 부모 양육 스트레스는 아동 학업능력에 영향을 미치는 주요 요인으로 알려졌으나, 어머니와 달리 아버지의 양육 스트레스에 대한 연구는 드물다. 본 연구는 부모 양육 스트레스가 취학 전 6세 아동의 언어·수리 학업능력에 미치는 영향을 알아보는데 그 목적이 있다. 한국아동패널 2014(7차년도) beta3 자료 중 결측치를 제외한 6세 아동 1,232명을 대상으로 하였다. IBM SPSS Statistics 23 프로그램을 사용하여, 빈도분석, t-test, 일원배치 분산분석(ANOVA), 이변량 상관분석, 다중 선형회귀분석을 실시하였다. 분석 결과, 어머니의 양육 스트레스가 아버지의 양육 스트레스보다 높았다. 어머니의 양육 스트레스는 아동의 언어 학업능력(p=.000) 및 수리 학업능력(p=.004)과 유의한 상관관계가 있으나, 아버지의 경우 그렇지 아니하였다. 이는 아버지보다 어머니의 양육 스트레스가 아동의 학업능력에 더 큰 영향을 미치며, 어머니의 양육 스트레스에 대한 지속적인 진단의 필요성을 시사한다. 이에 어머니의 양육 스트레스 개선을 위한 방안과 아버지가 아동의 육아에 적극적으로 참여할 수 있는 사회적 기반의 확대를 제언한다.

영문 초록

It is important to measure and manage the child academic skills. Parenting stress is a major factor influencing child academic skills, and it is hard to find researches of father parenting stress. Especially 6 years old children are the most important time to measure their previous academic skills. The purpose of this study was to investigate the correlation of parenting stress and the child language·mathematical academic skills of 6 years old children before school enrollment, and to develop the child academic skills positively. This study was conducted on 1,232 children aged 6 years old in the panel study on Korean child 2014 (7th year) beta3 data. For analysis, frequency analysis, t-test, ANOVA, bivariate correlation analysis, and multiple linear regression analysis were performed using the IBM SPSS Statistics 23 program. As result, mother parenting stress was higher than father parenting stress. The mother parenting stress was positively correlated with the child language (p=.000) and the mathematical academic skills (p=.004), but not the father ones. These results suggest that mother parenting stress has a greater effect on the child academic skills than father ones, suggesting the need for continuous diagnosis of mother parenting stress. This study suggests ways to improve mother parenting stress and to expand the social base that father can actively participate in childcare.
