국문 초록

한국 전통 춤은 우선, 심미적 이상으로 ‘대상무형, 천인합일(大象無形, 天人合壹)’의 이념을 추구하고, 심미적 품격으로는 ‘정중유동, 동중유정(靜中有動,、動中有靜)’의 특징을 추구한다. 춤 동작의 방식 면에 있어서는 섬세하고 조화로운 특성을 추구한다. 특히, 숨결과 염력, 지체와 영혼의 조화가 어우러지는 ‘이기대동, 이의대행(以氣帶動, 以意帶行)’을 한국 전통 춤의 특유한 성격으로 구분 지을 수 있는데, 이러한 춤 이면의 이상, 품격, 특징에서 드러난 한국 전통 춤은 특정 문화 정신을 숭상하고 그들만의 예술을 구현해내고 있음을 알 수 있다. 이는 춤에 있어서 사람들이 추구하는 정신을 반영하거나 삶을 구현할 때, 또는 예술화할 때 초(楚)문화 무속·도선(道禪) 사상을 흡수하여 발현되었음을 알 수 있다. 또한, 한국 전통 판소리와 무악(巫樂) 등에서도 중국의 초문화 영향을 찾아볼 수 있으므로 한국 춤과 음악에서 드러나는 한국 고유의 정신과 초문화의 사상들이 어떻게 융합되어 전승되어 오고 있는지 예술사적인 흐름에서 두 문화의 연관성을 해독하는 것이 필요함을 인지하였다. 그리하여 본 연구는 국내에 미비했던 연구 분야인 한국 무용 및 음악을 중심으로 하는 전통예술에서 발견되는 중국의 초문화의 영향력을 역사학적이고 심미적인 접근을 통해 밝혀내고자 한다. 나아가 두 나라의 문화적 가치가 서로 연계되고 융합되었던 과거의 모색을 통해 현재와 미래의 문화예술 발전에 필요한 시사점을 던지고자 한다.

영문 초록

Overall, Korean traditional dance has pursued Daesangmuhyeong (大象無形)－the idea that a huge shape is intangible－and Cheoninhapil (天人合壹)－the idea that heaven and people are united－as an aesthetic ideal. On the other hand, it has followed the characteristics of Jeongjungyudong (靜中有動)－the idea that miraculous enlightenment is thoroughly investigated in silence－and Dongjungyujeong (動中有靜)－the idea that serenity is in the movement－in the aesthetic dignity. The delicate and harmonious feature has been chased in its dance motion. In particular, the unique nature of Korean traditional dance is distinguished as Igidaedong (以氣帶動) and Iuidaehaeng (以意帶行), which means that breath and psychokinesis, as well as body and soul, are in harmony. Korean traditional dance revealed in the ideal, dignity, and characteristics lying behind it has revered the particular cultural spirit and given shape to their intrinsic art. This means that we can see the spirit that people sought as reflected in their dance or was manifested by being fused with the supercultural shamanism and Doseon idea related to geomancy, when people realized or sublimated their lives in art. Since we can also find the effect of Chinese superculture in Korean traditional pansori and shaman music, I recognized the need to interpret the connection between two cultures in the flow of art history, in particular, how the Korean unique spirit and supercultural ideas found in Korean traditional music and dance were blended and passed on. Hence, this study aimed to find out the effect of Chinese superculture, which can be found in Korean traditional art based on Korean traditional dance and music (domestic research on this is inadequate) using the historical and aesthetic approach. Furthermore, I would like to deduce the implications for improving the development of the present and future culture and art by searching the past when the cultural value of the two was linked and fused.
