문어체 연결어미 ‘(으)나, (으)며’의 학습이 한국어 쓰기에 미치는 효과 연구

국문 초록

이 연구는 한국어 쓰기 교육에서 문어체 연결어미 학습의 필요성을 제기하고 문어체 연결어미에서 ‘(으)나’와 ‘(으)며’를 활용한 쓰기 결과물의 효과를 검증하는 데 목표를 두고 있다. 먼저 기존 연구와 한국어 교재, 한국어능력시험의 쓰기 답안, 한국어 학습자의 쓰기 결과물을 분석하였다. 그 결과 기존 연구에서 전체 항목의 연결어미의 연구는 많이 진행되었으나 연결어미의 위계화나 등급화에 치중하여 목록을 선정하는 데만 그쳤을 뿐 문어체 연결어미에 대한 언급은 거의 없었음을 밝혔다. 그리고 한국어 교재, 문법서 등을 상세하게 분석한 결과 ‘(으)며’와 ‘(으)나’가 제시된 등급별 난이도가 일치하지 않는 것을 알 수 있었다. ‘(으)며’는 초급, 중급, 고급에 모두 제시되어 있었고 ‘(으)나’는 중급과 고급에 제시되어 있었다. 또한 쓰기 답안에도 ‘(으)나’, ‘(으)며’의 노출 빈도가 높음을 확인하여 한국어 학습자들을 위한 쓰기 교수에 문어체 연결어미의 명시적 제시가 필요하다는 것을 알 수 있었다. 그리고 한국어능력시험 쓰기 53번 문항으로 실험을 실시하였다. 이를 통해 문어체 연결어미 ‘(으)나’, ‘(으)며’의 명시적 교수가 학습자들의 쓰기 결과물에 유의미한 영향을 미침을 확인하였다. 이 연구는 한국어 학습자들의 쓰기에 실제적으로 필요한 문어체 연결어미를 활용하여 학습자들의 쓰기 능력을 향상시키는 데 도움이 될 것이라고 본다.

영문 초록

The purposes of this study were to check a need for Korean writing based on two literary-style connective endings ‘(eu)na’ and ‘(eu)myeo’ and test the effects of their writing outcomes. For these purposes, the investigator first examined in details model writing answers in previous studies, teaching materials for Korean, and Test of Proficiency in Korean. The results show that despite much progress in the research of connective endings across all items, there were few mentions about literary-style connective endings due to the focus on the hierarchies or grades of connective endings to make their list. The analysis results of teaching materials and grammar books for Korean in details reveal that there was no consistency of difficulty level among the grades in which ‘(eu)myeo’ and ‘(eu)na’ were presented. While ‘(eu)myeo’ was presented in all of the elementary, intermediate, and advanced levels, ‘(eu)na’ was presented only in the intermediary and advanced level. In addition, the exposure frequency of ‘(eu)myeo’ and ‘(eu)na’ was high in model writing answers, as well, which raises a need for the explicit provision of literary-style connective endings in writing instructions for learners in Korean. And the experiment was conducted with question 53 of Korean proficiency test. An experiment was conducted to confirm that the explicit instruction of literary-style connective endings ‘(eu)na’ and ’(eu)myeo’ had significant effects on the writing outcomes of learners and offer implications for future educational plans. Focusing on literary-style connective endings actually needed in the writing of learners in Korea, the present study provides findings helpful for the improved accuracy of their writing abilities.
