비교과프로그램으로서 독서·토론의 인성 교육적 가치와 전망

국문 초록

이 연구는 독서·토론프로그램의 운영이 위기에 처한 대학생들에게 스스로를 돌아보는 과정을 통하여 필요한 적응력을 키우고 삶의 질을 향상시켜줄 수 있을 것이라는 전제에서 시작되었다. 이 연구는 대학생들에게 필요한 ‘자기 성찰적 인성’을 길러주기 위한 독서토론 프로그램의 유용성을 분석하고, 확산 가능성을 모색하는 데 목적이 있다. 연구목적의 효과적인 달성을 위해 조선대학교 중앙도서관에서 비교과 독서·토론프로그램에 참여하고 있는 학생들의 독서·토론활동을 관찰하고 분석한 내용을 정리하였다. 그 결과는 다음과 같다. 첫째, 독서·토론 활동은 참여 학생들이 스스로 자신과 주변에 대해 되돌아봄으로써 ‘자기 성찰적’ 인성을 갖게 한다. 둘째, 독서토론 활동은 자기 성찰을 통하여 자신에 대한 객관적 인식에 이르게 한다. 이상의 결과를 바탕으로 다음과 같이 제안한다. 독서토론 활동의 강화는 오늘날 대학생이 처한 여러 문제들을 스스로 해결하도록 하는 방법적 시사점을 제공한다. 따라서 독서토론활동은 비교과 영역의 프로젝트 설계에서 보다 더 강화될 필요가 있다.

영문 초록

This study is intended to analyze the usefulness of reading and discussion program for developing Self-reflective Character necessary for college students, and it is intended to seek the possibility of spread. To this end, this study observed the details of activities of group that participated in reading and discussion club in Chosun University Central Library in 2015, and analyzed the details of interview. The group of participants to be analyzed is composed of 9 students who are in various grades and enroll in various departments. The group of participants to be analyzed was in the reading and discussion activity once a week for 2 semesters from March 2015 to December 2015, and prepared a portfolio in a certain form. The facts confirmed through this study are as follows. First, the reading and discussion activity leads to having the Self-reflective Character as students who participate in the activity look back at themselves and surroundings. Second, the reading and discussion activity leads to having the self-definition through self-reflection. Proposed as follows based on the above results. There needs to be further strengthened in the program design reading & discussion activities as extracurricular.
