체험학습에 기반한 대학교양수업의 사례 연구

국문 초록

오늘날 교육현장은 급변하는 시대상황에 따라 이전과는 다른 새로운 변화에 주도적으로 대응 할 수 있는 인재양성의 필요성이 요구되고 있다. 이에 부합하는 인재 양성을 위해 ‘창의·융합적 지식’와 ‘논리적·비판적인 사고’와 ‘문제해결력’등의 역량을 강조하고 있다. 본 연구는 체험학습을 기반한 대규모로 운영되는 학습자 주도적 일반교양 교과목인 『매스컴과 현대사회』와， 소규모로 운영되는 교수자 주도적 1학년 교양필수 교과목인 『독서와 글쓰기』, 『발표와 토론』 수업을 통하여 진행하였다. 2014년 4월16일－5월23일 동안 D대학의 뒷산인 오동공원에서 학습자들은 3회에 걸쳐 숲 체험학습과 글쓰기를 실행하였다. 오동공원은 도시숲 형태를 갖추고 있어 학습자가 75분간이라는 학습 시간 내에 활용할 수 있었으며， 산림치유사의 도움을 받아 지도 할 수 있었다． 또한 대규모로 운영되는 『매스컴과 현대사회』은 현장체험학습으로서 강의내용과 연계하여 학습자 자기도적으로 실행하였다． 현장체험학습의 체험적 조사분석 글쓰기와 숲 체험학습을 통한 글쓰기를 토대로 몇몇 사례를 선별해 체험학습 전/후를 비교분석 사례를 제시하였다． 이와 같이 대학교양교육에서 체험학습을 특별히 강조하는 것은 그간 입시위주교육은 객관식 지필고사에서 다루기 힘든 정의적 내용이나 삶의 여러 현장을 체험함으로써 얻게 되는 주관적， 인격적 지식을 소홀히 해 왔기 때문이다． 그런 점에서 체험학습은 구체적이고 직접적인 경험을 통해 산 지식을 배움으로써 교과교육의 내실화할 뿐 아니라 다양한 사람들의 삶의 세계를 체험함으로써 다른 사람에 대한 관심과 이해를 높이는 인성교육의 계기를 마련하는 것이다．

영문 초록

Today, education is being demanded of the necessity of cultivating talented individuals, who can react quickly to new changes and play a leading role in compliance with the rapidly changing circumstances. In order to cultivate those talented persons, it is emphasized on developing the competence of the creative and integrated knowledge, logical and critical thinking, and problem-solving. This study was conducted in the following field study-based classes: the ‘Mass Communication and Modern Society’ class which is the learner-centered general education course on a large scale, and the ‘Reading and Discussion’ and ‘Presentation and Debate’ classes which are the instructor-led, required liberal arts courses on a small scale. During April 16 and May 23, 2014, the learners practiced the forest field study and writing three times in the Oh-dong park, which was located at D University. The Oh-dong park which has a form of urban forest enabled the learners to utilize it for 75 minutes within the class hour, and a forest therapist to help them. In the ‘Mass Communication and Modern Society’ class on a large scale, the learners practiced the self-directed learning as the field study in relation to the lecture. As the case study, this study compared and analyzed the differences before and after the field study, which was based on the writing through the forest field study as well as the investigation and analysis. The reason for emphasizing the field study in the liberal arts education is because the entrance examination-centered education neglected personal and subjective knowledge that can be gained through experiencing various fields of life or affective content that is difficult for the current education system with multiple-choice tests to deal with. In this regard, the field study provides the opportunity of personality education that enables people to better understand and be interested in others by experiencing diverse lives of individuals. The field study also enables to sustain the curriculum education by learning practical knowledge through the concrete and direct experience.
