김춘수의 ‘무의미시’에 나타난 ‘무한이미지’의 성격

국문 초록

본고는 김춘수의 무의미시에 대한 ‘무의미’의 성격을 추적하여 그 성격을 규명한 것이다. 그 결과 ‘무의미시’는 ‘무한이미지 시’로 지칭하는 것이 설득력이 있음을 알 수 있었다. 또한 ‘무의미시’는 원칙적으로 불가능하다는 것이 필자의 판단이다. 그 이유는 지금까지 거론된 대표적인 무의미시 다수가 의식적 대상과 무의식적 대상의 거리를 이질적인 이미지의 결합 형식으로 병치한 결과임이 드러났기 때문이다. 따라서 무의미시는 병치적 이질적 이미지의 결합을 이해하면 의미시로서의 전환이 가능하다는 것이 필자의 판단이다. 한편, 본 대상의 이미지 설정은 멜라드의 도식에 적용한 결과 의식적 other는 일반적인 의미시의 과정을 따르고 있지만 무의식적 대상인 Other은 우연을 그대로 적용하여 작위성을 드러낸 결과 의식적 의미와 가장 거리가 먼 순수한 이미지를 대입하는 방식임을 알 수 있었다. 이는 김춘수 시가 지닌 특징적인 일면이며, 이로 말미암아 ‘무의미시’의 가능성이 제기된 것의 원인임을 이해할 수 있었다. 이는 병치의 수사적 일면과도 일치함을 지적하였다. 이와 같은 논의를 종합하면 ‘무의미시’는 ‘무한이미지 시’정도로 정의되어야만 김춘수 시의 정체성을 드러내는 데 유용하다고 판단된다. 이는 비판 없이 김춘수의 의견을 그대로 수용한 결과이며 김춘수 시를 이해하는 데 오해의 소지가 있음을 우려한 것이다. 그러므로 본고는 김춘수 시가 지닌 시사적 의미나 지향점을 폄하하는 것이 아니라 김춘수 시의 성격을 명확하게 제시하려는 의도에서 진행되었음도 밝혀둔다.

영문 초록

The study tracked the character of Kim Choon-soo, a meaningless poem in the poem. As a result, ‘nonsense’ is said to be persuasive because it can be understood by referring to an infinite number of images. Also, the author’s judgment is that ‘nonsense’ is impossible. The reason for this is that many of the typical nonsense cases discussed so far have resulted in a combination of consciously and unconsciously the distances of the unconscious image of the unconscious image. Thus, the author thinks that a literal translation of the juxtaposition of other-partition images can be interpreted as meaning. The reason was discussed through the importance of a major specimen of Kim Choon-su, who was previously labeled as ‘Sky-watermelon,’ and ‘Kim Chung-su.’ In the meantime, the image setup of this object was reflected in the semantic meaning of the Mellard, but the unconscious meaning of the ‘other’ meant that ‘Other’ is the embodiment of the pure meaning and the pure image of the conscious mind. This is a feature of Kim Choon-su, a feature of Kim Chun-su, who was able to understand why the possibility of ‘nonsense’ was raised. It pointed out that it coincides with the rhetorical aspects of juxtaposition with others. Taken together, ‘nonsense’ is considered to be helpful in defining the identity of Kim Choon-su, only when it is defined as ‘infinite image.’ This is not to denigrate Kim Choon-su’s current meaning or purpose, but rather to clarify the character of Kim Chung-su.
