오이디푸스 콤플렉스의 문학적 재현

국문 초록

본 연구는 박범신의 소설 『은교』의 등장인물 이적요가 안고 있는 결핍의 근원을 규명하기 위한 인물 분석이다. 분석의 방법으로는 프로이트의 ‘오이디푸스 콤플렉스’ 개념을 사용하였다. 소설 『은교』에 대한 기존의 해석들은 주로 열일곱 살 소녀를 향한 칠십 노인의 성적 욕망이라는 시각에서 이루어졌다. 그러나 본 연구에서는 이적요가 ‘은교’라는 대상에게 갖는 애정은 열일곱 어린 소녀를 향한 성적 욕망이 아닌, 유년기 어머니를 대상으로 한 애정관계의 결핍이 만들어낸 ‘오이디푸스 콤플렉스’와 연관된 것으로 보고 소설 『은교』를 오이디푸스 콤플렉스의 문학적 재현이라는 관점에서 해석하였다. 최초의 애착관계 형성이 이루어졌어야 하는 친어머니의 부재로 인해 D누나가 이적요의 마음속 어머니의 자리에 들어앉게 된 후 D누나에 대한 고착된 오이디푸스 콤플렉스는 평생 이적요의 삶을 지배해왔다. 고착된 오이디푸스적 문제는 이적요에게 삶과 사랑에 대한 왜곡된 인식을 갖게 했고 칠십 평생 동안 애정과 성적 욕망이 조화를 이루는 건강한 이성애적 사랑을 할 수 없도록 방해했다. 결국엔 오이디푸스적 살인까지 저지르게 되고 자신도 죽음에 이르게 된다. 이처럼 소설 『은교』는 유년기 모성애의 결핍이 낳은 심적 결함이 현재의 삶에 많은 갈등을 유발하며 끊임없이 부정적 영향을 미친다는 것을 오이디푸스 콤플렉스의 변형과 재현으로써 보여주고 있다. 소설 『은교 』를 오이디푸스 콤플렉스의 문학적 재현이라는 관점에서의 해석은 노년의 섹슈얼리티에 집중되었던 기존의 논의에서 벗어나 새로운 시각으로 소설 『은교』를 바라볼 수 있는 가능성을 열어준다는 점에서 의의가 있을 것이다. 그리고 소설 『은교』와 같은 오이디푸스 콤플렉스가 변형되어 서사화 된 문학적 재현은 독자로 하여금 무의식에 억압된 자신의 결핍이나 갈망을 돌아볼 수 있게 할 뿐 아니라 오이디푸스적 문제의 발견 또는 해결에 도움을 줄 수 있다는 점에서 문학적 의미가 있다할 것이다.

영문 초록

The study analyzes Lee Jeok-yo, the main character of the novel, 『Eun-gyo』. The analysis was based on the concept of Freud ‘Oedipus complex’. Life and love that Lee Jeok-yo is aware of is distorted. So his life was unhappy. In this study, the reason why Lee Jeok-yo was forced to live such a life was that the affection relation with his mother in childhood was not formed positively. Especially, as I assures that there was a problem, Oedipus complex made in his childhood, I applied the concept of ‘Oedipus complex’ to Lee Jeok-yo’s life and analyzed the effect of Oedipus problems on human life. Oedipus boys feel affection and sexual desire for their mother at the same time and the feeling gradually disappear after a time. However, a child, Lee Jeok-yo did not share enough affection with her mother in his childhood. Instead, he showed a strong attachment to D sister. Until he was 70 years old, he could not break his attachment for D sister. In other words, the childhood Oedipus complex became fixed. The complex solidified in the early child period prevented Lee Jeok-yo from giving affection and passion to another female and led his life from which love and sexual desire were thoroughly separated. In this way, Oedipus complex distorts life and love of a human being and prevents the growth of a healthy adult who simultaneously feels affection and enthusiasm. If Lee Jeok-yo of the novel, 『Eun-gyo』 was able to be loved and protected by the parents during childhood and satisfied the attachment relationship between his mother and him, he would be able to grow as a normal healthy adult who has love combined with affection and desire, not an adult with a distorted perception of life and love.
