현대문학 연구에서 정동 이론의 성과와 활용

국문 초록

이 글에서는 최근 한국현대문학에 등장하는 정동 이론의 성과를 확인하고 점검하는데 목적을 두었다. 우선 ‘정동’의 개념과 연구 범주를 살펴보고, 학술연구의 장에서 이루어진 연구 성과와 활용을 확인하였다. 이데올로기 시대에는 주체화 과정에서 지식과 지각이 중시되었으나, 포스트 이데올로기 시대에는 주체의 인지하고 감각하는 힘이 강조된다. 정동(情動)이론은 변화과정에 있는 대상의 특징을 세밀하게 파악하는데 유용한 연구방법론이다. 관습화된 일상과 삶의 구조를 미시적으로 접근할 수 있는 방법론이다. 정동은 언표화 할 수 없지만 에너지(힘)를 지니고 있다. 정동은 언표화 할 수 없는 힘과 강도로 정의되는 만큼, 긍정적이거나 부정적인 효과는 정동 주체와 상황에 영향을 받을 수밖에 없다. 한국에서 정동 이론은 주로 정치적인 관점에서 혐오문제에 관심을 보였으며, 한국 문학에서 정동 이론은 시와 페미니즘 연구에 영향을 미쳤다. 정동이론을 주로 정치적인 관점에서 다루게 된 데서 짐작할 수 있듯이, 한국 연구자들은 있어야 할 미래와 인간의 모습을 구현하기 위해 정동이라는 에너지의 방향성 설정을 위한 노력을 기울였다. 정동은 소설이라는 구조에 유기적으로 작용하고 있으며 인물의 형상화를 비롯한 주제 구현에 기여한다. 최근 소설은 특정 인물과 사건을 부각시키기보다 인물과 인물, 인물과 사건, 인물과 세계를 둘러싸고 상호간 부대끼는 과정에서 발생하는 정동의 효과를 보여주고 있다. 독자들은 인물, 사건, 세계에 잠재하는 다양한 가능성을 읽으며 인간과 세계를 구성하는 보편적인 삶의 방식을 확인하고, 그 과정에서 변화와 역능의 잠재성을 읽어나간다. 정동 이론은 이 세계를 구성하고 있는 문화와 현상을 비롯하여 대상이 지닌 변환 가능한 에너지를 분석하고 방향성을 제안할 수 있다는 점에서, 있어야 할 현실을 구상할 수 있는 유효한 담론으로 부상하고 있다.

영문 초록

In this paper, we examine the concept and research categories of ‘Affect’, analyzing the achievements of Affect theories in the field of academic research, and confirm that the novel is the root genre of the Affect. In the ideological era, knowledge and perception were emphasized in the process of subjectification, but in the post - ideology era, the power of perception and sense of subject is emphasized. Affecti is equivalent to Latin affectus and affect of English and French. “Affectus / affect” is a re-interpretationand appropriated by Deleuze, the concept of Spinoza. The theory of Affect is a research methodology that is useful for finely grasping the characteristics of objects in the process of change. It is a methodology that can microscopically approach customized daily life and structure of life. In Korea, Affect theory was discussed mainly in relation to politics, especially in the problem of aversion. Affect is unexpressed but have power. As Affect is defined as a power and intensity that can not be expressed, positive or negative effects are bound to be influenced by the situation and Affect itself. In Korea, the interest of Affect theory in the political sphere is also due to the ethical efforts of intellectuals to set the direction of energy in Affect. Affect theory should be used to realize the future and form the human to be. Affect is implemented in the novel structure to organize the subject as well as to shape the character. In recent years, novels have shown the effects of Affect in characters and characters, characters and events, characters, and the world. Readers read the potentials of people, events, and the world, and read the potential of change and capability in the process of identifying the universal way of life that makes up the human and the world. The theory of affect emerges as a discourse that can be read in terms of analyzing the various energies of the object, including the culture and phenomena that make up the world, and suggesting a meaningful direction to it.
