부모의 사회적 지원 수준에 따른 6학년 여학생들의 신체활동에 대한 태도의 차이

국문 초록

이 연구의 목적은 부모의 사회적 지원 수준에 따른 6학년 여학생들의 신체활동에 대한 태도의 차이를 규명하는데 있다. 연구의 대상은 중소도시에 거주하는 초등학교 6학년에 재학 중인 287명 가운데 신체활동에 대한 중립적 태도를 표명한 132명을 제 외한 155명(긍정:87명, 부정:78명) 중에서 성실하게 설문에 응답한 132명의 여학생 부모를 대상으로 수행하였다. 자료 처리는 PASW ver 18.0의 독립표본 t-test를 사 용해서 부모의 사회적 지원 수준에 따른 여학생들의 신체활동에 대한 태도의 차이를 분석하였다. 그 결과, 부모의 사회적 지원수준의 하위요인 중 부모의 격려, 롤 모델 링, 필요수단 제공 등의 지원을 받는 여학생들은 그렇지 않은 여학생에 비해 신체활 동에 대한 긍정적 태도를 보였고, 집단간에 유의한 차이가 있었다. 그러나 사회적 지 원수준의 하위요인 중 좌업생활 제한에서는 신체활동에 대한 태도에 차이가 없었으 며, 집단간에 유의한 차이가 없었다. 이와 같은 결과는 부모의 사회적 지원 수준은 신체활동에 대한 여학생의 태도와 밀접한 관련이 있으며, 여학생의 신체활동 참여를 촉진하기 위한 전략으로 부모의 영향력 활용이 필요하다는 시사점을 제공해준다.

영문 초록

The importance of regular physical activity spread into society, but rate of girls who participate in physical activity is at alarming rate. The lack of physical activity increase the cost of health care rapidly and becomes great burden of society. Therefore, understanding of determinants that influence girl\ s physical activity is important in the development of interventions to increase physical activity behaviors in girls. One of factors that influence on girl\ s physical activity is the social support of parents through a variety of ways. However, the importance of parental social support has been left out as blackout in Korea. The purpose of this research was to find out the relationship between the level of parental social support and 6 grade girls\ attitude toward physical activity. Self report of questionnaires were administered to 132 6th grade girls and their parents. The results of study revealed that girls who had positive attitude toward physical education received more social support from parents in terms of role modeling, encouragement, provision of necessary means. However, there was no difference in parents limitation of girls\ sedentary behavior. The implications from this study are (1) parent is an important factor to increase girl\ s physical activity, (2) school physical education and club sport program should be revovated as girl-friendly, (3) participation of physical activity should be encouraged by parent, and (4) parent participation in physical activity should en enhanced so that parent can be role model and be more supportive for their children physical activity. Considering the great influence that parents may have on their daughter\ s physical activity, more research are needed.
