재료와 매체로서의 색태토도자조형 연구

국문 초록

현대 도자공예에서는 색채의 중요성에도 불구하고 태토를 새로운 관점으로 수차례 논의한 바 있지만, 이에 대한 해석은 아직 그 사례가 적은 편이다. 특히 색태토는 연리문이나 장식 등에서 소극적으로 사용되어 주도적 매체로서 가치와 활용 사례는 찾아보기 어려운 것이 현실이다. 이에 본 연구는 색태토의 재료적 측면에서 확장의 가능성을 확인하고, 표현 매체로서 가치를 실증하기 위해 다음과 같이 이론적 근거를 확보하고자 하였다. 색태토가 가진 특성에 대해서는 『도자예술의 새로운 시각』의 논지와 레오포드 폴름과 피터 도머 그리고 아서 단토 의 주장, 빅터 로웬펠드의 연구를 바탕으로 고찰하였다. 제작과정의 반복에 대한 의의는 질 들뢰즈의 연구를 철학적 기반으로 이해하였다. 색태토의 색채는 먼셀과 캐롤 잭슨의 연구를 비교함으로써 그 차이를 확인하였다. 이를 바탕으로 재료와 매체로서의 색태토도자조형을 규명하기위해 연구자의 작품을 분석하였다. 색태토는 도예성을 지닌 재료로써 이에 대한 암묵적 지식에 의한 사고와 행위의 통합을 인지하여야 색태토도자조형의 제작이 가능하다. 제작 과정을 통해 생성된 기술의 발전은 숙련의 에너지로 치환할 수 있다. 촉각에 의해 형성된 저채도의 부드러운 색감과 다양한 질감의 색태토는 자아가 투영되어 내면의 미묘한 감정을 표현할 수 있는 매체로 활용이 가능하다. 이를 이용한 단위형태의 집적, 비정형적 조합 등에 의한 집합은 규모의 확대와 이미지의 전달력을 상승시킬 수 있었다. 더불어 타 재료와의 연계는 재료적 표현 범위의 확장과 매체로써 능력을 보완, 강조할 수 있었다. 이를 통해 형성된 다양한 색상과 질감의 색태토는 경험에 의한 사상과 감정이 이입되어 조형물로 시각화되었다. 이로써 색태토도자조형은 색상과 질감을 지닌 도예성을 지닌 재료이자 본연의 발색으로 자아의 내면을 표출하는 데 적합한 매체임을 확인할 수 있었다.

영문 초록

The clay and color of ceramics have been handled from new perspectives, as the universal concept of ceramics changes into contemporary ceramic art. Within such a change, clay has been constantly discussed from a formal and a conceptual aspect, although studies on color are still few. In particular, Colored Clay is used only passively in Yeollimun or decorations, and examples and values as a leading medium are difficult to find. Therefore, the study reconfirms the value of Colored Clay, and attempts to secure the following theoretical basis to substantiate its potential from a formative aspect. The study was based on the study of 『The new aspects of ceramics』 and the study of Leopold Foulem, Peter Dormer and Arthur Danto, Victor Lowenfeld s research. The significance of the repetition process was understood by the philosophical foundation of Gilles Deleuze. The color of the colored clay is attributed to the uniqueness of ceramic art. Comparing the difference between Munsell and Carol Jackson s research, it confirmed the differences. Based on this, they analyzed the works pieces to identify Colored clay formative ceramics as Material and Media Colored Clay is a material that has ceramicness. It is possible to fabricate Colored clay formative ceramics by recognizing the integration of thought and action by tacit knowledge. The development of technologies created in this iterative process can be replaced with the energy of the skilled. Colored Clay of the soft color of saturation and various textures formed by the tactile sense can be utilized as a medium to express the subtle emotions of the inner self projected by the self. The combination of the unit type and the atypical combination using this can increase the scale and the image transfer ability. In addition, the linkage with other materials was able to expand the range of material expression and to supplement and emphasize the ability as a medium. Various colors and textures of the colors and textures formed by this colored clay were visualized by experience and emotion. As a result, it can be confirmed that the Colored clay formative ceramics is a material having ceramicness having color and texture, and it is a suitable medium for expressing the inner surface of the self by its original coloring.
