한 체육교육자의 교직 생애를 통한 교육관 들여다보기

국문 초록

이 연구는 현장교사부터 교육전문직 및 관리직에 이르기까지 그 역할을 두루 경험한 체육교육자의 교직 생애에 대한 변화 과정을 교육관을 중심으로 살펴보고, 그교육적 의미와 가치를 밝히는 데 목적이 있다. 이러한 연구 목적을 달성하기 위해 35 여 년 동안 J도의 교육 현장에서 근무하고 있는 L교육자를 연구 참여자로 선정하여 생애사 연구를 실시하였으며, 2013년 5월부터 9월까지 심층 면담, 참여 관찰, 제보, 문서 자료 등을 이용하여 자료를 수집하고 분석하였다. 이러한 연구 절차를 통해 분석한 결과 첫째, 연구 참여자의 교육관은 교직 경력이 더해 갈수록 뚜렷해지는 경향을 보였다. 척박한 수업환경에서도 체육교사로서의 사명감을 가지고 열정적으로 수업을 준비하는 모습을 통해 ‘책임과 열정’을 확인할 수 있었다, 둘째, 새로운 환경에 서의 한계상황에 부딪혔을 때에도 타성에 젖지 않고 도전하며 성장하는 자세를 견지 하는 ‘반성과 쇄신’으로 관점이 확장되었음을 확인할 수 있었다. 셋째, 교직경력이 점차 쌓여가면서 교육자로서의 사명감과 소명의식을 느끼며 감동을 주는 교육의 필요 성을 인식하였다. 전인교육의 필요성에 대해서 깊게 공감하고 ‘소명과 감동’이라는 교육관을 견지하며 교육현장을 위해 고민하는 모습을 엿볼 수 있었다.

영문 초록

The purpose of this study was to figure out the value formation process for classes which is based on a secondary physical education teacher`s course of study transit from the first appointment to the present, and to illuminate the educational meaning and value. In order to achieve the purpose of this study, life-long history research was done targeting a 35-year-career physical education teacher ‘L’ of ‘J’ province. This study gathered data by in-depth interviews, participatory observation methods, case reports, documents, and other forms of research. The results of the research are as follows. First, the more study participant built his educational career, the more his educational view became obvious. Responsibility and passion were known through his vocation as P.E teacher and passionate preparation for class in spite of poor class environment. Second, he took up the challenge and developed continuously despite poor class environment and maintained reflective mind so he was not stuck in a rut and could accept new stimulation. Third, he felt vocation as educator and recognized necessity of education that create impression while he had built education career. He empathized with necessity of whole-person education and maintained his educational view called ‘vocation and impression’.
