강제 연계와 개인적 은유법의 어린이 영어학습자의 창의적 글쓰기에의 활용

국문 초록

이 논문은 전조작기와 구체적 조작기에 있는 어린이들이 강제연계와 개인적 은유법을 사용하여 글쓰기를 할 때 어떤 차이를 보이는 지를 연구하고 이러한 교습법에 대한 학생 들의 의견을 물었다. 모든 학생들의 작품을 분석하는데 있어 강제연계를 사용한 글쓰기는 (SBWPs) Gentner와 Namy (1999)가 창안한 유사성 유형분석으로 개인적 은유법을 활용한 글쓰기는 (PABWPs) 강남준 (2017) 이 사용한 창의성 반영도를 측정하여 분석하였다. 결과로서 두 조작기 어린이들이 갖고 있는 특성에 의한 차이는 글쓰기에 크게 나타나지 않았다. 단지 주제의 친숙한 정도, 흥미도, 개인적 성향, 영어에 대한 사회적 인식과 역할에 대한 어린이의 인식이 어린이들의 글쓰기에 영향을 미치는 요인으로 나타났다. 또한두 조작기 어린이들 대부분은 창의성을 연계한 글쓰기 수업 (SBWP & PABWP)에 긍정 적인 반응을 하였다. 이 결과를 통해 느낀 점은 두 조작기의 어린이들이 피아제나 다른 학자들의 연구와는 달리 그 조작기에 관계된 특성을 그들의 창의적인 글쓰기에 보이지 않았으며 이는 모든 연령대에 이러한 종류의 창의적 활동을 활용 할 수 있는 가능성을 보았다. 이에 이러한 활동들이 어린 영어 학습자들의 영어 학습능력 발달과 창의성 강화에 어떤 영향을 미치는 지에 대한 연구가 강화되고 지속되어져야 한다고 본다. 영문 초록

This study examines how differently the characteristics of two 5 year old (pre-operational stage of development) and three 9 and 11 year old children (concrete operational stage of development) were reflected in their synectics based written products (SBWPs) and personal analogy based written products (PABWPs) while also discussing the learners’ perceptions of using synectics and personal analogy in their English lessons. The written products of each learner were analysed. The SBWPs were analyzed using Gentner and Namy’s (1999) similarity type comparison criteria, as they reflect specific characteristics of the pre-operational and concrete operational stages of development (Piaget), while the PABWPs were analysed using a creativity assessment rubric developed by Kang (2017). All of the learners’ products were evaluated by two raters individually and the average scores of the two raters for each product was used for this paper. (3) The results showed that there were no significant differences found between the children in the two stages of development in terms of their SBWPs and PABWPs. Rather topic familiarity and interests, personal characteristics, and social norms and the role of English affected the children’s performance and perceptions, with many of the children perceiving the creativity-based lessons positively. The results of this study therefore support the possibility of using a creative approach for developing young learners’ English language abilities and developing their creativity.
