국문 초록

본 연구는 중학생의 자아존중감과 진로태도성숙도 및 학습동기 사이의 연관성을 검증하여, 학습자의 학습동기를 유발하는 데 목적이 있다. 연구대상은 대전시의 S중 학교에 재학 중인 1·2·3학년 217명이며, 2015년 7월 10일부터 2015년 7월 15일까지 설문조사를 실시하였다. 연구도구는 자아존중감 검사, 진로태도성숙도 검사, 학습동기 검사를 사용하였다. 수집된 자료는 SPSS 21.0 프로그램을 이용하여 독립표본 t-검정과 일원분산분석을 실시하였고, 피어슨의 상관관계 분석과 다중회귀분석을 실시하였다. 연구에서 얻어진 주요 결과를 요약하면 다음과 같다. 첫째, 연구대상의 배경 특성에 따라 자아존중감, 진로태도성숙도, 학습동기의 차이를 살펴보았을 때, 성별, 학년별 차이는 유의미하지 않았으나 성적별 차이는 유의하게 나타났다. 둘째, 자아존중감과 진로태도성숙도는 학습동기 간에 정적 상관관계를 보였다. 셋째, 자아존 중감과 진로태도성숙도는 학습동기에 유의미한 영향을 주며, 진로태도성숙도의 하위 변인 중 진로에 대한 관심정도인 준비성이 학습동기에 가장 큰 영향을 주는 것으로 나타났다. 이러한 결과는 청소년들이 스스로를 가치 있고 귀하게 여기는 마음을 가지고 적성에 맞는 진로와 직업을 찾아간다면 학습동기에도 긍정적인 효과를 얻을 것임을 시사한다.

영문 초록

The purpose of this study is to verify the relationship of self-esteem, maturity of career attitudes, and learning motivation of middle school students and improve learners’ motivation. The subjects of this study were 217 students in the 1st, 2nd, and 3rd grade who are enrolled in S middle school in Daejeon. The survey was conducted from July 10 to July 15, 2015. The research tool was designed by using the self-esteem scale, career maturity attitudes scale, and the learning motivation scale. The collected data were processed through independent sample t-test, one way anova, Pearson s correlation analysis and multiple regression analysis by using SPSS 21.0. The major findings are as follows. First, considering differences of self-esteem, career maturity and learning motivation according to subjects’ backgrounds, there was significant difference related with only academic achievement level, not with gender or grade. Second, there was positive correlation among self-esteem, career attitude maturity and learning motivation. Third, self-esteem and maturity of career attitudes had significant influences on learning motivation. Further, preparedness which is the degree of interests in their career, exerted the biggest effects on learning motivation. The result indicates that youth will develop learning motivation, when they think themselves valuable and precious and look for their career and job suitable for them.
