초등학교 다문화교육프로그램 개발을 위한 기초연구

국문 초록

본 연구는 초등학교 다문화교육프로그램 개발에 있어서 의생활 영역의 기본 방향 및 내용에 관련한 기초자료를 제공하는데 연구의 목적을 두고, 다문화교육의 개념 및 다문화교육내용 분석기준을 설정하여 초등교육과정에서의 다문화교육내용을 분석하였다. 연구결과, 첫째, 다문화교육을 위한 의생활문화교육 프로그램의 개발에서의 다문화교육의 개념은 더불어 살아가기 위한 기본철학을 바탕으로 전 지구적 관점으로 그 의미를 넓혀야 하며, 내용의 분석기준은 두 개의 큰 범주로 나누어, ‘다문화적 시민성’범주에는 ‘정체성, 다양성, 평등/정의, 시민성’이라는 4개의 기준과 ‘전지구적 과제’의 범주에는 ‘상호의존, 평화, 지속가능한 발전’이라는 세 개의 기준이 가장 타당하다고 할 수 있다. 둘째, 초등학교 교육과정에서 다문화교육은 전 학년의 각 교과에서 다각도로 접근되고 있으며, 교과별로 보면 도덕과 사회교과가 ‘다문화적 시민성’과 ‘전 지구적 과제’ 범주의 내용요소 전반을 다루는 것에 비해 미술, 체육, 실과는 ‘다문화적 시민성’ 범주 중 정체성과 다양성에 집중되어 있는 것으로 나타므로 이를 기를 수 있는 효과적인 영역으로서의 역할을 인식함과 동시에 그 효과를 발휘할 수 있는 프로그램의 개발이 요구된다. 셋째, 초등학교에서의 의생활문화교육이 교과에서 이루어지는 경우에는 각 교과의 목표를 먼저 인식하고 그 안에서 의생활문화교육이 접근되어야 하며, 교과간의 역할을 고려하여 내용의 접근에서 차별화가 분명히 이루어져야 할 것이다. 넷째, 의생활문화 프로그램에서의 나라의 선정은 10개 의생활 문화권을 고려하고, 해당 문화권의 의생활에 대한 지리적 요인, 사회적 발전단계, 사회적 요인, 경제적 요인, 정치적 요인의 세부적 사항을 바탕으로 심도 있게 접근되어야 할 것이다.

영문 초록

The purpose of this study is to suggest directions for development of multi-cultural education program especially in the clothing & textiles culture unit. To achieve this purpose, the national curriculum and text books were analyzed by setting up the reference points and the notion of multi-cultural education. The major findings in this study were as follows: 1) The notion of multi-cultural education should be more broadly applied, to the global perspective, based on the basic philosophy of getting along. The reference points should be in two large categories, the Multi-cultural citizenship category, which includes identity, diversity, equality, and citizenship, and the global task category, which includes interdependence, peace, and perpetual progress. 2) In the current elementary school curriculum, multi-cultural education is approached from many different angles. While in Ethics and Social studies curriculum, multi-cultural citizenship and global task categories are covered thoroughly, while in the Art, Physical Education, and Clothing & Textiles, the curriculum only focuses on the identity and the diversity of the multi-cultural citizenship category. Therefore, it is needed to develop the elementary multi-cultural education programs in the clothing & textiles to recognize and fulfill its purposes. 3) In case of the clothing & textiles culture education being performed in each subject, the object of the subject should be recognized before approaching the clothing & textiles culture education, and the approaches should be distinctive between subjects with the consideration of the roles of each subject. 4) Ten different nations should be carefully selected in the clothing & textiles educational program according to dimensions such as their geography, level of social development, society, economy, and politics.
