항공사 객실승무원의 신체적 매력이 자기효능감, 직무만족 및 직무성과에 미치는 영향

국문 초록

본 연구의 목적은 항공사 객실승무원을 대상으로 신체적 매력이 자기효능감, 직무성과 및 승진에 미치는 영향관계를 분석하는 것이다. 연구 자료는 K 항공사 객실승무원을 대상으로 229명에게 설문지를 통하여 수집하였으며 분석은 SPSS 및 AMOS를 이용하였다. 본 연구의 결과는 다음과 같다. 첫째, 신체적 매력은 자기효능감을 높이는 것으로 나타났다. 둘째, 자기효능감은 직무만족과 직무성과에 정(+)의 영향을 주는 것으로 나타났다. 셋째, 신체적 매력은 직접적으로 직무만족 과 직무성과에 긍정적인 영향을 주는 것과 동시에 자기효능감을 통해서도 간접적으로 정(+)의 영향을 미치는 것으로 나타났다. 이러한 결과는 항공사 객실승무원의 신체적 매력이 자기효능감을 유도하며, 자기효능감은 직무만족을 증가시키는 것은 물론 직무성과에 영향을 미친다는 것을 의미한다. 또한 신체적 매력이 있는 객실승무원들은 고객과의 점점에서의 직무에 만족하기 때문에 직무성과가 좋을 가능성이 높다는 것을 알 수 있다. 따라서 항공사가 경쟁력을 유지하기 위해서는 객 실승무원의 선발과정에서 신체적 매력을 보다 심도 있게 살펴보아야 하며, 선발된 객실승무원들이 자신의 매력 자본을 고객에게 충분히 활용할 수 있도록 관리하는 교육과 지도 시스템이 필요하다고 여겨진다. 더불어 관리자들은 객실승무원들 의 자기효능감을 고양하기 위해 적극적인 칭찬과 피드백을 제공하여야 할 것이다.

영문 초록

The purpose of this research is to analyze the impact of physical attractiveness on self-efficacy, job satisfaction and job performance among flight attendants. The research data are obtained through a survey targeted for 229 flight attendants of an airline company. The analysis is carried out using SPSS and AMOS. The results of the research are as follow: physical attractiveness(skin, face, body shape, voice) positively influences one s self-efficacy, which has a favorable effect on job satisfaction and job performance. Also flight attendants physical attractiveness has both direct and indirect effect on job satisfaction and job performance through self-efficacy. Therefore, in order for an airline company to maintain its competitiveness in the market, it is critical to consider physical attractiveness of its applicants during the recruitment process. Furthermore, the implementation of training system is necessary for the selected applicants to fully utilize their physical attractiveness asset in work-related tasks. This research is unique in that it is the first to reveal the sequential linkage from physical attractiveness to job satisfaction and job performance.
