신환경 패러다임(NEP) 인식 수준의 분류에 대한 방법론적 논의

국문 초록

본 연구에서는 상대적 척도인 NEP 인식 수준에 대한 합리적인 분류 방법을 찾고자 하였다. 이를 위해 관광객의 기본적 요구를 파악할 수 있는 동기와 충성도를 기준으로 비교하여 NEP 인식 집단의 분류에 대해 논의하고자 하였다. 실증분석을 통한 결과는 다음과 같다. 첫째, NEP 인식에 대한 요인분석 결과 자연과의 균형, 성장의 한계, 인간의 지배 등 3개 요인이 도출되었으며, DMZ 관광객의 동기는 생태체험, 안보관광, 일상탈출, 향수성, 신기성의 5개 요인으로, 충성도는 단일요인으로 도출되었다. 둘째, NEP 인식 수준에 따른 집단을 합산점수의 평균값을 이용한 방법(모델1) 그리고 합산점수와 집단비율 및 군집분석을 이용한 방법(모델2, 모델3)으로 각각 분류한 후, 판별분석과 집단비율을 고려한 분류 타당성을 비교해본 결과 송형섭(1999)과 Floyd, Jang, & Noe(1997)의 연구의 결과를 지지하고 있는 모델 3의 분류가 가장 적합한 분류 모델인 것으로 판단되었다. 셋째, 분류된 NEP 인식 수준별 집단에 대한 관광동기와 충성도의 차이분석결과 모델1에서는 관광객의 동기 요인 중 생태체험, 일상탈출, 향수성과 충성도에서 저/중NEP 인식집단과 고NEP 인식집단 간 통계적 차이가 있었다. 모델2에서는 생태체험, 일상탈출, 향수성과 충성도에서 저/중NEP 인식집단과 고NEP 인식집단 간 통계적 차이가 나타났다. 모델3에서는 생태체험, 일상탈출, 향수성, 신기성 및 안보관광 요인과 충성도에서 NEP 인식 수준 집단별 통계적 차이가 있는 것으로 나타났다.

영문 초록

Authors intended to find out reasonable classifications about NEP(New Environment Paradigm) perception levels, and relative measure, in this study. For this, we were to discuss the classifications of NEP perception groups, comparing with the motivation and the loyalty which could grasp tourists" basic needs. The results of demonstrative analysis were as follows; First, the balance with the nature, the limit of growth, and human sway over the nature were identified through the factor analysis of NEP perception levels. DMZ tourists" motivations were found as ecological experiences, national security tourism, escape, nostalgia, and novelty. Second, the model3 supported by both Song Hyung Seop"s(1999) and Floyd, Tang & Noe"s(1997) study results were found to be estimated as the most appropriate one in terms of classification validity. Third, when the tourism motivation and the loyalty of groups classified by NEP perception levels were analyzed, in model 1 and model 2, there were statistical differences between low/middle NEP perception groups and high ones in ecological experiences, escape, nostalgia, and loyalty. In model 3, the low perception groups, the middle ones and the high ones had statistical differences respectively in ecological experiences, escape, nostalgia, novelty, security and loyalty.
