국문 초록

명절과 특별한 절기에 행해지는 세시풍속은 생활문화와 놀이문화가 한데 어울려 나타난다. 생활문화와 놀이문화가 같은 시간에 같은 공간에서 한데 섞여 구현되고 있기 때문이다. 특기할 만한 것은 농경문화를 반영하고 있는 세시풍속이 많다는 점과 큰 명절, 즉 설날과 단오와 추석 등에 집중적으로 나타난다는 점이다. 시기적으로 歲時記가 조선후기에 집중적으로 출현하는 이유는 세시풍속에 대한 관심이 조선후기에 가서야 지식인층에까지 확산되었기 때문으로 보인다. 이는 조선후기의 사회적 변화와 지식인의 변화된 의식의한 모습을 歲時記가 반영하고 있는 것이라 여겨진다. 때문에 세시풍속이 漢詩化되어 전해지는 이유는 지식인들의 반성적 사고와 사회전반에서 일어난 기층 민중과 기층문화에 대한 관심과 그들의 목소리와 삶이 부각된 현상에 기인하는 것으로 판단된다. 세시풍속을 형성하고 향유하는 주체들은, 그들이 보고 들으며 자란 생활문화로서의 풍속을 자신들이 거를 수 없어서 재연한다. 이 세시풍속을 한시로 묘사하는 시인 또한 그들의 정성과 행위에 지식인으로서 동참하고 있다. 이는 기층문화의 강고한 생명력과 영향력에 그 동인이 있기 때문이다. 세시풍속 앞에서는 권력이나 신분, 체면은 아주 나약한 가면에 지나지 않는다. 적잖은 한시에 세시풍속이 담겨 있고, 때로는 세시풍속만을 담은 연작시가 지어지는 이유도 바로 여기에 있다고 보인다. 사실 문화란 켜켜이 쌓인 積層이라 할 수 있다. 그래서 오늘의 문화가 꼭 오늘만의 문화는 아닌 것이다.
