영문 초록

This study investigates the motivation, behavior, demographic characteristics of customers using Mexican, Indian, Vietnamese, and Thai restaurants in Korea. A main purpose of this study was to find differences in the characteristics of those customers and to suggest marketing implications to improve outcomes of their management of ethnic food restaurants in Korea. Motivations of visit included ``curiosity regarding ethnic foods``, ``changes in food life``, ``meeting with someone``, ``experience abroad and personal taste``, and ``recommendation``. And there are some differences in motivations of visit by customers of ethnic food restaurants. We Also found that patrons of Mexican, Indian, Vietnamese, and Thai restaurants have lots of differences in their restaurant visiting behavior and demographic characteristics. According to these results, we supplement previous research that was focusing only on the post-experience customer needs. We also reaffirm the importance of demographic characteristics in food consumption. Finally, all these results will contribute to our goal of satisfying ethnic food restaurant customers as well as bolstering long-term profits.
