영문 초록

By continuing economic instability, undergraduate students are faced with economic hardship. The purpose of this study was to investigate the dimensions of economic stress of undergraduate students, and to find out the differences in dining out behavior and food taste preference. Data were collected from undergraduate students who have dining out experiences in Seoul by trained interviewers. As a result of the present study, we found out two aspects of the economic stress: ``decrease of household income`` and ``shrinkage of personal consumption.`` The differences in dining out behavior such as dining out motive, dining out partner, favorite restaurant, monthly dining out expenses and cost per one time dining out were significant. Hot taste was the most preferable in the undergraduate student consumers. Especially hot taste and bitter taste were more preferable in the high stressed group than low stressed group.
