玉所 權燮의 「六詠」에 나타난 音樂觀 考察

국문 초록

玉所 권섭(1671~1759)이 활동 하던 17ㆍ8세기는 근대 여명기로서 여항문인들의 대두를 통한 새로운 경향의 문학이 나타나던 시기였다. 玉所는 사대부이면서 작품 경향은 일반 양반 계층 작품들과는 다른 경향을 보여주고 있다. 그러므로 「六詠」의 연구는 玉所 문학의 한 단면을 확인할 수 있는 작업이다. 玉所의 음악관은 다양한 계층의 여항인과의 교유를 통하여 형성되었다. 이러한 경험은 玉所가 음악에 대한 관심과 열정을 내면화 하는 바탕이 되었다. 玉所의 시조 작품은 자필로 기록하여 행간에 작가의 체취와 숨결을 직접 느낄 수 있다. 「六詠」은 당시 상하 계층에서 행해지던 음악들을 망라하여 작품에 수용하였다. 祭樂의 경우는 일반 백성이 아닌 사대부들에게 관심 대상이 되는 음악이며, 軍樂과 女樂의 경우도 상황은 비슷하다. 玉所가 다양한 음악의 내용을 작품 속에 수용할 수 있었던 것은 풍부한 여항인들과의 교유의 결과이다. 玉所의 음악의 공연에 대한 감상과 느낌을 기술문 형식으로 표현함으로써 시조시화적 성격을 입증하고 있다. 「六詠」은 玉所 문학의 다양한 면모를 확인할 수 있는 내용이며, 조선 후기의 연희 양상의 한 단면을 입증할 수 있는 자료이다.

영문 초록

The 17th and 18th centuries, when Okso Kwon Seop(1671~1759) was active, were the dawn of modern civilization and the period when new trend of literature appeared through the emergence of commoner writers. Although Okso was an aristocrat, the trend of his works was distinguished from that of the typical aristocrat writers. Therefore, the study of The 6 Yeong (The Six Songs) is the work that confirms a side of Okso's literature. Okso's musical point of view was formed through associating with common people from various backgrounds. These experiences became the basis of internalizing Okso's passion and interest in music. Okso's shijo(a three-verse Korean ode) works were recorded in his own writing, so we could feel the author's touch and breath between the lines. The 6 Yeong was published, including all kinds of music performed in the upper and lower classes at the time. In case of ritual music, it was the music that did not interest commoners but interested aristocrats and the situation was similar in case of martial music or women's music. Why Okso could adopt various kinds of musical contents in his works resulted from keeping company with numerous commoners. He proved his characteristic of shijo and painting by expressing his feelings and appreciation of music performances in the form of description. The 6 Yeong has the contents about confirming a variety of aspects of Okso's literature and it is the evidence supporting a side of the aspects of dramatic entertainment in the late Joseon Dynasty.
