향찰 '叱'자 해독의 변증 일반

국문 초록

이 글에서는 용언에서 '(-)시-'나 '(-)실(-)'을 표기한 향찰 '叱'자들에 대한 선행 해독들을 변증하고, 그 과정에서 발견되는 미흡점들을 보완하였다. 그 중요한 내용은 다음과 같다. 첫째, 어간의 말음 '-시-'로 읽은 '叱'이다. '有叱下是, 有叱下呂, 伊叱等邪' 등의 '有叱, 伊叱' 등은 '잇' 또는 '이시'로 읽은 해독들이 유력한데, '有叱故, 有叱多' 등의 '有'들이 '이시'로 읽힌다는 점에서, 이 '有叱, 伊叱' 등은 '이시'로, '叱'은 어간의 말음 '-시-'로 각각 읽은 해독을 따랐다. '없다'의 이형태 '업시다'가 구결 '無'(업시며)에서 보인다는 점에서, '無叱昆'은 '업시곤'으로 읽고, '叱'은 어간의 말음 '-시-'로 읽었다. 둘째, 어간의 말음과 어미의 '-실-'로 읽은 '叱'이다. '有叱故'와 '有叱多'는 각각 '이실고'와 '이실다'로 읽고, '居叱沙'는 '안질사'[안지(>앉)+ㄹ사]의 이표기 '안실사'로 읽으면서, '叱'들은 어간의 말음 '-시-'와 어미 '-ㄹ고, -ㄹ다, -ㄹ사' 등의 '-ㄹ-'이 결합한 '-실-'로 읽었다. 셋째, 어간의 '시-'로 읽은 '叱'이다. '內乎叱等邪'는 '드리(內=納)오 시야'로, '乞白乎叱等耶'는 '빌사뢰오 시야'로, '沙毛叱等耶'는 '사모 시야'(삼고 있다야)로, '好叱等耶'는 '(오)>호 시야'(하고 있다야)로, '來叱多'는 '오 시다'(오고 있다야)로, '內乎留叱等耶'는 '드리올로(늘어트리올 것으로) 시야'로 각각 읽으면서, '叱'들은 어간 '시-'로 읽었다. 넷째, 어간과 전성어미의 '실'로 읽은 '叱'이다. '太平恨音叱如'는 '태평임 실다'로, '逐好友伊音叱多'는 '좇호 벋이임 실다'로, '出隱伊音叱如支'는 이임 실 디'로 각각을 읽으면서, '叱'들은 어간 '시-'와 전성어미(동명사형어미, 관형사형어미) '-ㄹ'이 결합된 '실'로 읽었다.

영문 초록

This study demonstrated the preceding decoding to the character(叱) in Hyangchal - focusing on the '叱/si, 叱/sil' used in verb and adjective, and then in two aspect made up for the weak points discovered in the preceding perspectives on decoding Hyangchal(叱). First is the aspect of the old sound(sil/실) found in chinese character(叱). Second is the aspect of the grammatical connection of morphemes found in the word involving Hyangchal(叱). The result of this study is as follow; 1. Preceding decoders decoded as many kinds of sound(s/ㅅ, si/시 etc) to the character(叱) in Hyangchals(有叱下是, 有叱下呂, 伊叱等邪, 無叱昆). This decoding have a problem that did not demonstrated many kinds of sound(s/ㅅ, si/시 etc). 2. The character(叱) in the Hyangchals above is decoded as a last sound(si/시) in stem, according to the old sound(sil/실) found in chinese character(叱) and to the grammatical connection[stem(+pre-final ending)+final ending] of morphemes found in the Hyangchals above. 3. Preceding decoders decoded as many kinds of sound(s/ㅅ, si/시, sɪ/싀 etc) to the character(叱) in Hyangchals(有叱故, 有叱多, 居叱沙). This decoding have a problem that did not demonstrated many kinds of sound(s/ㅅ, si/시, sɪ/싀 etc). 4. The character(叱) in the Hyangchals above is decoded as a sound[sil/실: a last sound(si/시) in stem plus a sound(l/ㄹ) in final ending], according to the old sound(sil/실) found in chinese character(叱) and to the grammatical connection(stem+final ending) of morphemes found in the Hyangchals above. 5. Preceding decoders decoded as many kinds of sound(s/ㅅ, si/시, sɪ/싀 etc) to the character(叱) in Hyangchals(內乎叱等邪, 乞白乎叱等耶, 沙毛叱等耶, 好叱等耶, 來叱多, 內乎留叱等耶). This decoding have a problem that did not demonstrated many kinds of sound(s/ㅅ, si/시, sɪ/싀 etc). 6. The character(叱) in the Hyangchals above is decoded as a sound(si/시) of stem, according to the old sound(sil/실) found in chinese character(叱) and to the grammatical connection[stem+connective ending(內乎, 乞白乎, 沙毛, 好, 來) or stem+gerund enging+case ending (內乎留), stem+final ending(叱等邪, 叱等耶, 叱等耶, 叱等耶, 叱多, 叱等耶)] of morphemes found in the Hyangchals above. 7. Preceding decoders decoded as many kinds of sound(s/ㅅ, si/시, sɪ/싀 etc) to the character(叱) in Hyangchals(太平恨音叱如, 友伊音叱多, 出隱伊音叱如支). This decoding have a problem that did not demonstrated many kinds of sound(s/ㅅ, si/시, sɪ/싀 etc). 8. The character(叱) in the Hyangchals above is decoded as a sound[sil/실: a sound(si/시) of stem plus a sound(l/ㄹ) of gerund ending or modifier ending], according to the old sound(sil/실) found in chinese character(叱) and to the grammatical connection[stem+pre-final ending+gerund ending(太平恨音, 友伊音, 出隱伊音), stem+final ending(叱如, 叱多) or stem+modifier ending(叱)+bound noun(如支)] of morphemes found in the Hyangchals above.
