이익 ≪해동악부≫의 고려가요 가화 수용

국문 초록

본고는 성호 이익(1681-1763)이 당대까지 전해오던, 고려가요(궁중속악)의 가화를 어떻게 수용하여 이를 시화하였는지, 또 그 대사회적 의미는 무엇인지를 면밀하게 살핀 연구이다. 고려 관련 악부시 가운데 장르로서의 고려가요를 시화한 것으로 볼 수 있는 작품은 <장단곡>, <대동강>, <금강성>, <벌곡조사>, <과정곡>, <장암곡>, <오관산>, <총석정>, <장생포> 9편이다. 이중 <장단곡>, <벌곡조사>, <과정곡>, <장암곡>은 전래의 가명 말미에 악부의 전통성을 고수하려는 작자의 의도를 반영하여 '곡'이나 '사'가 붙여진 경우이다. 가화는 『동국통감』의 기록 일부분을 거의 재수록하되, 『고려사』 「악지」의 일 구절도 같이 끌어온 <과정곡>을 제외하면 모두 『고려사』 「악지」의 가화를 재수록하고 있는데, 완전 일치를 보이는 경우와 몇 글자 출입이 있는 경우가 있다. ≪해동악부≫를 보면, 고려가요의 가화를 수용하여 주로 잡언고시 형태로 시화하되, 자신의 풍부한 상상력과 창의력을 더해 의미 깊고 표현에 묘미가 있는 매우 뛰어난 문학 작품으로 형상화하였다. 요즘 유행하는 이른바 스토리텔링의 놀라움을 느끼게 하는 시들이라 하겠다. 이익은 ≪해동악부≫를 통해, 임금은 임금으로서, 신하는 신하로서, 자식은 자식으로서 그 책임을 다하는 그런 사회를 염원하였다. 그리하여 미풍양속 속에서 영원토록 태평성대를 구가하는 복된 나라가 되기를 꿈꾸었다. 또 이익 당대 또는 그 후대 사회의 음악이 망국지음으로 흐르지 않기를 바라는 마음을 담아내었다.

영문 초록

This writing is a close study on how Seongho Lee, Ik(1681-1763) accepted and poeticized the Gahwa(歌話) on Goryo gayo handed down to the time and what its inter-social meaning was while Seongho Lee, Ik created Haedongakbu(海東樂府). There are 9 works, which can be acknowledged as a poeticized form of Goryo gayo as a genre including Jangdangok(長湍曲) and Daedonggang etc., among the Goryo-related Akbusi(樂府詩). 4 works out of these attached 'Gok(曲)' or 'Sa(辭)' to the end of a traditional song title by reflecting the intention of the author who tried to adhere to traditionality of Akbu(樂府). Haedongakbu re-include the Gahwa contained in Goryosa(高麗史) Akji(樂志), among which some cases show perfect agreement in Gahwa while other cases show adjustment of just a few characters. Nevertheless, the Gahwa in Gwajeonggok(瓜亭曲) is mostly no other than a part of the Gahwa in Dongguktonggam(東國通鑑) with the addition of one phrase of 「Akji」. Looking into Haedongakbu, it is learned that Seongho Lee, Ik poeticized Gahwa of Goryo gayo mostly in the form of Jabeongosi(雜言古詩) by accepting Gahwa of Goryo gayo, and further embodied the poeticized Gahwa into a very excellent literary work equipped with in-depth meanings and delicate expression by adding his own exuberant imagination and creativity to his works. Lee, Ik longed for a society where a sovereign, subject and child can fully carry out given responsibility at one's position, respectively; together with that, Lee, Ik dreamed of a blessed country which eternally praises an era of peace in the midst of the beautiful and fine custom. In addition, Lee, Ik included his heart for music of the day and even up to the music of later generations not to be fallen into vulgar and messy music that ruins a country.
