국문 초록

이 연구의 목적은 학교장의 특성과 학교경영 활동이 학업성취도에 미치는 영향을 분석하는 것이다. 이를 위해 <2012년도 국가수준 학업성취도평가 성적 및 설문 자료> 중 일반계 고등학교 2학년 자료를 분석하였고, 기술통계 분석, t검증(t-test), 다층모형 분석(Hierarchical Linear Model; HLM)을 활용하였다. 주요 연구 내용 및 결과는 다음과 같다. 첫째, 교장 임용 형태와 전문직 경력 여부에 따라 학교경영 활동에 차이가 있었는데, 공모형 교장과 전문직 경험이 있는 학교장의 학교경영 활동이 상대적으로 높은 것으로 나타났다. 둘째, 학교장 배경 변인 중 전문직 경력, 임용 형태는 학업성취도에 정적인 영향을 미쳤다. 셋째, 학교장의 학교경영 활동 중 '학교 교육 목표 달성 확인'과 '교수 활동 지원'은 학업성취도에 긍정적인 영향을 미치는 것으로 나타났다. 이러한 연구 결과를 바탕으로, 학교장의 임용, 양성, 연수, 업무 수행, 지원, 평가 등에 대한 시사점을 제시하였다.

영문 초록

This study aims to investigate the effects of characteristics and school management activity of principals on students' academic achievement. For this purpose, 2012 NAEA data was analyzed and descriptive analysis, t-test and HLM(Hierarchical Linear Model) were used. The main results are as follows. First, the results showed the significant difference of school management activities according to the appointment system and career as an educational supervisor of principals. Second, among the principals' variables, the appointment system and the professional career of principals positively effected students' academic achievement. Lastly, principals' school management activities, 'verifying the attainment of school objectives' and 'supporting teaching activity' had positive effects on academic achievement. Based on the findings of this study, there were implications for the appointment system, training system and program of principals, performance and support for work, and evaluation.
